My contributions to the Kirina’s Closet Halloween Costume Contest.
Fairy Godmother (2009)

Mistscape Wizard Hat, Gossamer Shoulders & Cape, Sorcerer Robe, Formal White Shirt, Watcher’s Star
All other costumes behind the cut because some of the pictures are rather large.
2009 costumes:
Little Red Riding Hood

Hooded Cowl, Sanguine Cape, Formal White Shirt, Crimson Silk Vest, Knitted Belt, Colorful Kilt, Brewfest Slippers, Cross Dagger, Beautiful Wildflowers
The Hooded Cowl is a Horde quest reward; Alliance characters will have to make do with the magenta Interlaced Cowl.
ETA: the quest that rewarded the Hooded Cowl is no longer available. The grey quality, magenta colored Interlaced Cowl or crafted, maroon colored Felcloth Hood may be used instead.
Quidditch!Ginny Weasley

Flying Tiger Goggles, Sanguine Cape, Red Linen Shirt, Crimson Silk Vest, Aurora Pants, Journeyman belt gloves and boots, Magic Broom, Farmer’s Broom
I put this costume together after I got a Magic Broom from a treat bag. Yes, I know Quidditch players don’t actually use brooms for anything other than flying, but I couldn’t resist using both kinds of brooms at once.
Agatha Heterodyne, Girl Genius

Flying Tiger Goggles, Formal White Shirt, Willow Vest & Pants, Recruit’s Boots, Beaded Belt, Gloves of Kapelan, Arclight Spanner, Tork Wrench (Horde)/Shoni’s Disarming Tool (Alliance)
Kaelinda took up Engineering for Halloween last year just so that she could wear the goggles for these two costumes and so that she could have double wrenches for this costume. This year, she has dropped Engineering in favor of the wonderful Lifeblood heal available to Herbalists.
The Tork Wrench is a non-weapon off-hand frill that all classes can equip; Shoni’s Disarming Tool is classified as an off-hand axe, so only class/spec combos which can dual-wield can use it.
Loot Crazed Diver

Deepdive Helmet, White Linen Shirt, Sage’s Cloth & Trousers, Knight’s Belt, Small Dagger, Nightglow Concoction
2010 costumes:
Little Mermaid

Buckled Harness, Greenweave Leggings, Gypsy Sandals
I tamed a crab as a pet and couldn’t think of any better name for it than “Sebastian”. Then I knew I just had to do this costume. I gathered all the items and took these screenshots sometime in mid-summer, long before I decided to faction-change Kate into a Night Elf.
Sinister Squashling or Pumpkin Fiend

Hallowed Helm (or Weighted Jack-o-Lantern), Green Linen Shirt, Heavy Woolen Gloves, Disciple’s Belt, Greenweave Leggings, Gypsy Sandals
Inspired by Kirina’s Pumpkin Costume. Modeled by the lithe and lovely Keriluna, since it re-uses the pants and shoes from Kate’s costume.
Ninja

Ebonhold Helm/Sunroc Mask, Terrorcloth Mantle, Dusky Leather Armor, Stylish Black Shirt, Scouting Trousers, Ruffian Belt, Bandit Boots & Gloves, Hanzo Sword + Rune Sword/Skinning Knives
Who says a Tauren can’t be a Ninja, eh?
I think face masks look pretty silly on a Tauren, and the mail Ebonhold Helm does just as good a job of disguising the face. Death Knights can’t use real daggers, but since Skinning Knives aren’t classed as any particular type of weapon, Kregga can equip them. The stealth effect is from an Invisibility Potion — Kregga keeps a stack of them.
Starfleet Officers

Red Linen Shirt/Bright Yellow Shirt/Blue Linen Shirt, Antique Cufflinks, Tuxedo Pants, Recruit’s Boots
What do you call an Elf who lives in SPACE? A Vulcan!
I first put this outfit together for my banker in summer 2009 after watching the Star Trek reboot movie. This year, I revisited the concept to submit to the costume contest. The Antique Cufflinks add detailing to the ends of the shirt sleeves that suggests the rank stripings of the classic Star Trek: TOS Starfleet uniforms. The big mirrors and chairs in the barbershops make a great “bridge” set. The second picture was perhaps my most ambitious image manipulation with Photoshop yet — I bought Photoshop last autumn, while I could still get it at student prices before I graduated, but have been learning how to use it only very slowly.
These are really fantastic! I especially love your Agatha costume – I love that comic!! Also the last picture is quite hilarious. I love the idea for the costumes and the image is really cute.
Great idea to buy Photoshop while you were a student. I tried it out on a trial basis for a month or so and had fun playing around. I didn’t get very far and won’t be buying it anytime soon, but I’d like to try a few other free programs. Needless to say, I don’t see graphics in my future, but checking out your work is exciting! Your creations are so fun. I also especially love the Star Trek costumes.
So fun/ny.
[...] TYI prompt because I’d already made several “fairy tale”-type screenshots with my Hallow’s End Costumes. The silly screenshot I made to commemorate Prince William & Kate Middleton’s wedding [...]
