Kjersti loved the wild world. She loved to be out of doors, under the open sky or among the trees. So it was only natural that when she came of age, she chose the Hunter’s path. With her faithful bear, Bucky, at her side, she watched the clouds and the stars, felt sun and rain and snow upon her face, listened to wind and water, studied the ways of plants and animals alike.

The earthquakes came, and with them the Earthen Ring. At first, Kjersti was awed by the appearance of the fabled Shaman of the Wildhammer Clan.

Awed… and utterly fascinated. She had long felt that the Mountain was alive, but to actually see the Earthen Spirits roaming the great caverns of Ironforge –

– to feel the swoosh of power as the Cleansing Totem calmed their distress, at least for a moment — the Earth held secrets beyond those sought so eagerly by the Explorer’s League!

Travelling to Stormwind to meet with the courier from Northrend, she marvelled at the ability to call forth the strengths of one element to counter those of another.

All those years, out in the woods, it had not been the beasts she yearned to speak with, nor the trees… it had been the earth itself, the air, the water, even her campfire at night.
“I have heard that the Wildhammer have come to Coldridge Valley,” she told her father, returning the gun he had given her when she came of age. “I am going there to learn how to work with the Elements, if they will take me, if they will teach me.”
