I’ve signed up to help judge the Kirina’s Closet Hallow’s End Costume Contest this year because I haven’t had any costume ideas of my own. Outfit ideas, however, I have had aplenty.
Although some of these ideas have been presented previously, they’re certainly worth showing again.

A classic fashion, the Simple Black Dress is always a good choice. Wear it alone or with an orange, green, or lavender shirt. The Fenlow sisters (Candace in the background) are wearing the Black Mageweave Robe/Netherweave Robe.

The Death Speaker Robes and Mantle were made for Hallow’s End! For a more unique & unexpected look, wear the Death Speaker Mantle with the Shimmering Silk Robes.

The Lovely Black Dress with the Orange Martial Shirt is an elegant combination for a low-level banker. For a high-level character, the Consortium Combatant’s Robes are a full-length version of the shirt and will be a relatively rare sight because they are rewarded from an Outland group quest.

Kiki is wearing the same outfit of Banshee Armor + Red Silk Trousers as she wore last year, but I think it looks indisputably more awesome with the new “Backblown” hairstyle.
Kregga’s “Evil Pumpkin King” outfit returns, this time with an orange shirt and an appropriately Firey enchant on her Haunted Blade (Horseman’s Helm, Kraken shoulders, Fel Iron Plate set).

Kivrinne’s outfit consists of Russet Vest & Boots, Woven Pants & Bracers, and Tattered Cloth Gloves. The fellow on the left of her is wearing the Russet set with the Journeyman Belt, while the damsel on the right is wearing the Funeral Pyre Vestment.
Kazuliza’s Ale-Soaked Robes/Robes of the Glorious Song (paired with the Faded Wizard Hat) are an easier-to-obtain alternative to the Funeral Pyre Vestment… if you’re Horde.

The Embersilk set’s black-brown and scarlet tones are perfect for Hallow’s End. The top looks great paired with the leather Warchief Kilt. For a very Druid-like take on Hallow’s End, try the Warchief Kilt with the Chestguard of the Talon/Sacred Feather Vest.

The Gilneans bring with them not only a more meaningful reason for the members of the Alliance to participate in Hallow’s End, but also some great new fashion options. Kymberlea is wearing the black Gilnean Acolyte’s Robe (lvl 1 warlock), with a seasonally appropriate colored shirt, to take her daughter trick-or-treating. Kelisanna has disguised herself as a Worgen Hunter with a brown linen shirt, Gilnean Trapper’s Vest, Goblin Trapper’s Pants, and Gilnean Trapper’s Boots. The brown invokes both traditional Hallow’s End colors as a darkened version of orange or a softened version of black.

For higher level characters who can wear leather, the orange Bonechewer Skincloak makes an interesting change from the standard witch hat. I’ve shown it here with the Gilnean Footpad’s Vest and Goblin Thug’s Pants on the left, and with the Black Lunar Festival Suit on the right, with both outfits using the Bandit Gloves and Recruit’s Boots. I think it would look amazing with the Consortium Combatant’s Robe.

The trails of spiders leading to clues in the Creepy Crate questline reminded me of certain spidery robes…

The cool colors of the Arachnidian Robes, shown here with a Black Swashbuckler’s Shirt, do not lend themselves well to Hallow’s End. The brighter Hibernal Robe/Venomshroud Silk Robes work a little better with the Amber Filigreed Shirt or Stylish Black Shirt.

If you can get your hands on them, the gorgeous Chan’s Imperial Robes are sublimely elegant for Hallow’s End when paired with an Amber Filigreed Shirt or a Stylish Black Shirt. Try the black shirt combination with a black hat or cowl.
The best spidery top for Hallow’s End, though, is the Watcher’s Tunic, which is already black, orange, and yellow.

The flared sleeves of this chestpiece show skin color when worn without a shirt.
The outfit on the right, which I would use with the Watcher’s Tunic year-round, layers the Watcher’s Tunic with the Formal White Shirt and Netherweave Bracers to create a black band at the wrists that coordinates with the Astralaan belt, pants, and boots. A Battered Jungle Hat tops off the ensemble.

These outfits with a yellow or orange shirt (no bracers), Tuxedo Pants, and Dress Shoes are great for Hallow’s End, but would also be appropriate year-round.

For a more specifically Hallow’s End look, the lavender shirt and Netherweave Bracers tie in with the Skywitch Hat/Faded Wizard Hat.

Using the Stylish Black Shirt makes the orange and yellow segments of the tunic really “pop” visually. The Leggings of the Icy Heart are a black kilt with an oval design on the front that mimics the spider abdomen shape from the spider robes, albeit without the legs. I’ll be scanning the AH for this rare Northrend BOE, so that I can use it for Hallow’s End next year!
Grayson’s Torch/Mistyreed Torch complements any Hallow’s End outfit. Other good off-hand choices are the Bouquet of Orange Marigolds, Bouquet of Black Roses, single Black Rose, Greenweave Branch, or a lantern.
What are your toons wearing for Hallow’s End this year?
Oh I love the ideas Kamalia! Though this is not related to this post, but it IS related to Hallow’s End costumes – what did you use for your Trekkies costumes for your previous entry in Kirina’s costume contest? And do you think it would be any good on a Tauren?
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed them
I listed the items that went into the Trekkies costume in my Hallow’s End: Costumes post from last year, in one of the paragraphs surrounding the pictures. It’s the last costume in the post. I think it would work just fine on a Tauren — you won’t need the Dress Shoes, though.
Ah, I really do enjoy your creativity. Always so unique.
I especially like the cat on a broomstick XD
