I ought to have put up a post last week as soon as I heard about Mataoka’s Azeroth’s Next Top Plate Model competition, to spread the word. But I was not sufficiently on-the-ball, so here I am, slipping in my entry at the last minute.
I have three characters who qualify: Kaumalea, a level 62 Tauren DK; Kiraleia, a level 63 Blood Elf Paladin; and Kregga, a level 85 Tauren DK. I chose Kiraleia — I know, I know, the Blood Elf, so unoriginal — because, quite frankly, I wasn’t having any sort of inspiration for the other two.
I’ve shamelessly borrowed from Effy the titles for the four categories.
Swimsuit Competition — “Less is More”

Jade chestpiece pants and gloves, Bog Pauldrons, Girdle of Unity, Ravenguard’s Greaves, helm and cloak hidden
The unique and beautiful coloring of the Jade set makes it one of my favorite Highly Impractical Plate sets.
The term “Hawt Plate” bothers me not because I object to it on philosophical grounds (I don’t) but because the image it brings to my mind is this:

I was tremendously amused by this “WoW Pod” that came up in my GoogleImage search for “chemistry hotplate”.
Evening Gown Competition — “If I could wear Cloth”

Jr. Technician 3rd Grade Goggles, Aurora Mantle, Astralaan Robe, Widow’s Clutches, High Councillor’s Sash, Ruby Slippers, cloak hidden
This outfit was inspired by the combination of the goggles and the robe, which my Blood Elf Mage, Kaelinda, actually wore from level 65 to level 70.
Talent Competition — “In My Free Time”

Conqueror’s Helmet, Embossed Plate Pauldrons, Ursa’s Embrace, Leggings of the Ursa, Hyperion belt gloves and boots, Blade of Wizardry, Outland Shield, no cloak shown but any long red & gold cloak will do
Kiraleia’s actual professions are pretty boring — double gathering, and I’ve been so lax about keeping up with them that even though she’s questing in Outland, she can’t gather any Outland resources. So I’ve gone with an outfit that represents her Calling — a Blood Knight sworn to defend and increase the honor and glory of Silvermoon City. This outfit is an elaboration of Kiraleia’s current Transmogrification Template Kit, which is itself based on the Redeemed Blood Knight ensemble I presented in the “Well-Dressed Paladin, Revisited” guest post I made at Manalicious.
Miss Azeroth — “Best in Horde”

Helm of Lupine Ferocity, Big Bad Pauldrons, Warmaul Breastplate, Callous-Hearted Gauntlets, Coldrock Girdle, Darkcrest Legguards, Battlescar Boots, Fel Iron Hatchet, Fel Iron Shield, cloak is hidden
This outfit was designed to encompass the spirit of the Horde as a whole, and would undoubtably look a lot better on one of the core races of the Horde — an Orc, a Troll, or a Tauren. The helm especially looks rather silly on a Blood Elf.
Head on over to Sugar & Blood to see all the entries and find out who is Azeroth’s Next Top Plate Model!
Gorgeous! I especially like the Jade set (her Swimsuit), because I have been trying to find some inspiration in regards to those shoulders! I really like the Deathbone sets, and when I discovered there was one in green and yellow, I immediately thought they were great shoulders!
Yah, I would never dress myself in “hawt” or “slut” plate, or whatever anyone deems to call it, but I always think back to a post by Bravetank (Midriff Cannot be Attacked) whenever such skimpy outfits for frontline melee get brought up… http://bravetank.wordpress.com/2011/12/03/bravetank-bugle/
So dressing my perfectly proportioned character that way is a good outlet.

I hadn’t seen that post by Bravetank, but it’s hilarious!
