Effraeti always has such fun Transmogrification ideas! Recently, she challenged JD Kenada to create something appropriate for a high-society Worgen:
The Gilneans fled their home with little more than the clothes on their back. Everything that was high-society Gilnean fashion was lost except a few pairs of dress robes. Mr. Amateur, I challenge you to create an outfit worthy of an aristocratic Worgen.
The only stipulation is it must be moggable – no Tuxedo.

Here’s JD’s answer to the challenge, and here’s Effraeti’s response to her own challenge — and Effy said the rest of us could play, too!
I figured that making an aristocratic cloth outfit would be pretty easy, so I decided to try making High-Society Gilnean Transmogrification Template Kits for all four armor types.
My High-Society Gilnean Cloth and Gilnean Plate TTKs are inspired by the colors and patterns of the apparel worn by Gilneas Citizens and by the sadly never-implemented Embroidered Shirts.

High-Society Gilnean Cloth

Chief Architect’s Monocle, Duskhallow Mantle, Shadow Council Tunic, Black Belt of Knowledge, Legwraps of the Master Conjurer, Dryad’s Wrist Bindings + Ameth’Aran Gloves, Sorcerer Slippers, Gray Hair Cloak
High-Society Gilnean Plate

Replica Helm of Valor, Noble Plate Pauldrons, Sunblessed Breastplate, Stormforged Belt, Exalted Legplates, Gauntlets of Enforcement, Ancient Skeletal Boots, Cloak of War, Ebon Filigreed Doublet
The Gilneas City Guards are wearing the leveling mail set obtained by questing in Vashj’ir and Deepholm, minus the shoulders.

I swapped out a few of the pieces for some more interesting items to create this Gilnean Mail TTK.
High-Society Gilnean Mail

Glimmering Mail Coif, Pauldrons of the Promise, Chestguard of the Naz’jar, Belt of Deathly Dominion, Legguards of Revelation, Swamp Gas Gauntlets, Atoll Treaders, Mantle of Gilneas, Stormwind Doublet
(the remaining pieces of the 80-85 leveling set are the Vapor-Proof Headcover, Scavenged Stormwind Spaulders, Gorgonian Belt, and Starfish Gauntlets)
For the leather set, I looked for items with filigreed patterns, and tried to compile an overall appearance that I thought a young Gilnean socialite might find dashing.
High-Society Gilnean Leather

Clever Hat, Bonechewer Shoulderguards, Don Rodrigo’s Poncho, Girdle of Lenience, Retainer’s Leggings, Blacksting Gloves, Fel Leather Boots, Crimson Silk Cloak, White Swashbuckler’s Shirt
I also made versions of the cloth and leather ensembles with skirts for those who desire to be more lady-like.

Cloth: Leggings of the Icy Heart (the only black cloth skirt out there — how I wish there was a black version of the Simple Kilt!)
Leather: Mystic Sarong, Sandals of the Insurgent
Kymberlea and her husband, Bertram, were upper-middle-class craftsmen — she an Enchanter and he a Jeweler — in Gilneas City before the crisis. Although they recognized and appreciated the honor of the Night Elves’ hospitality, Darnassus was no place to raise their four Human children, so they went to Stormwind with King Greymane’s ship. Their struggle to eke out a living in that competitive (and prejudiced) market is what ultimately caused Kym to seek additional work in the form of adventuring. Bertie did not contract the Curse himself, so it is his hypothetical Worgen form that is shown.
Damn, I would’ve used the Leather for my Mage, who I CANNOT seem to identify with on a Mogging level at all. I’m hoping when I finally get him from 66 to 70 that it will open up more options that give me something I “feel” works.
Great outfits here as always. For my personal tastes, I don’t like the helm on the plate. Otherwise, I think I like that set the best.
Thanks!
I guess for a Mage you’d be looking at using the Windchanneller’s Regalia, which has the style of several of the items in the leather set, but in a sky blue color.
The helm for the plate set *was* kind of iffy — there weren’t a lot of good choices. I really liked the style of the Brilliant Titansteel helm, but the colors weren’t quite right. The Amberplate helm looked okay, but it didn’t really say “aristocrat” to me. I decided to go with the Valor helm because I liked the shape of it and the silver sort of coordinated with the chestpiece — but I’d like it better if the silver areas were black
Yeah, wish wish wish. If only we could fine tune it even more (I still say armor tinting would’ve been a better feature, but I’ll take what we’ve gotten so far).
And not sure on the Windchanneller. We’ll have to see if and when he hits 70, lol.
They are such beautiful outfits, they almost make me feel I could make it through the starting zone just one more time. Or at least go back for my Mage stalled at level six so that some day she could wear that Gilnean Cloth outfit!
Aye, there’s the rub. I’ve got characters who’ve been saved from the chopping block simply because I can’t bear to think of playing through their racial starting zones yet again.
Unless she’s in Duskhaven and you’d like to Time Capsule her there, you should go rescue your poor level 6 Mage and bring her out into the Wide World
._. Oh my. Now I know what I have to dress my worgen in when they get to high levels. My mage used to be a student of Dalaran, so there might be other Dalaran-themed outfits that suit her better, but I still might collect your cloth set just cause it looks beautiful. ^^ (I do wish there were glasses instead of a monocle–might suit a student better!)
I haven’t settled on what my warrior would wear, but as she used to be the daughter of a rich merchant (and was subsequently taken in by one of his friends after his death), the plate outfit might be a good start for her. She’s a bit rough around the edges since she became a worgen, but we’ll see what she decides she wants to wear.
Very nice!
Cerylia! Great to see you around again! I’m glad you like these outfits, and I’d love to see how your characters interpret them
Thank you so much for this!
I’ve been struggling for mogging ideas for my druid for the longest time now, and your set(s) just fit the bill perfectly!
You’re welcome!

Oh, so fancy! Too fancy! I love these sets *_*
XD
[...] 2, I’ll be using the dull gold and blue Deepholm leveling set (also the inspiration for my High-Society Gilnean Mail set) as Ketura’s TTK. Yes, deliberately. Left: Pauldrons of the Promise, Nexus-Strider [...]
