After a week at level 90, what have I accomplished?
Well, not much, really, in terms of “progression”. I’ve been playing just what I want to play at any given moment and having lots of fun.
I really like the Shaman T14 chestpiece and shoulders, so I do want to get geared up enough for LFR eventually — but I’ve been too distracted by all the solo play shinies of Pandaria to feel like running very many Heroics. I could spend this weekend running Heroics… but it’s General Conference, so I won’t. Meanwhile, BTH has been diligently running Heroics and doing his Golden Lotus and Klaxxi dailies. His guild successfully downed the first boss in the Mogu’shan Vaults this week.
The dailies that I’ve accomplished the most consistently are the ones at Halfhill. My garden is up to 8 mounds, and I’m slowly making friends with all the farmers. I’ve also started working with the Order of the Cloud Serpents. The azure and jade cloud serpents are lovely, but remembering that I’d been secretly hoping for a mount almost exactly like the Heart of the Aspects except without the armor, I chose the golden egg. I’ve been doing the Anglers dailies mostly for the skill and Valor points. Kamalia loves her Mastercraft Kalu’ak fishing pole, and, being a Shaman, she has water-walking. I have other characters who would like the Pandaren or Dragon fishing poles and the Angler’s Raft, though.
Kamalia has maxed out her two primary professions. With all the dailies that require killing beasts of various sorts, she can get a heap of skins every day, if she wants. I’m still working on the secondaries. Between BTH and myself, we’ve sent enough DEables home to Kregga that she’s been able to max out her Enchanting without ever leaving Thunder Bluff — though she will have to go to Pandaria eventually to get at the Enchants that are behind reputation gates. BTH has also sent home enough herbs for Kregga to nearly max out her Alchemy. I’ve trained Zen Master with all my other level 85 characters, too — mostly in anticipation of getting 5 free profession skill points out of the upcoming Darkmoon Faire.
I ran a few scenarios the other night, starting with the Arena of Annihilation for the blue weapon quest reward. I wish they’d thought of the scenario format for the previous gladiator arena quest chains! The other scenarios I tried were fun, too, and I’m excited to do the ones I haven’t done yet.
I’m still working on cleaning up the questlines that we skipped as we were leveling. I spent an evening fishing and flying around to blank spots on the map and finished up the Exploration meta achievement. I am not yet Exalted with the Lorewalkers, though. I have only completed two lorescrolls stories. I was happy that I managed to finish the Yaungol story first! I’ve also finished the Jinyu story. There are several lorescrolls I still have to find. Maybe in another few weeks I’ll cheat and look up the locations of the scrolls I haven’t found yet, but for now, I want to discover them myself by exploring. I did cheat a little and look up the general location of the Shrine of Fellowship so that I could get the cinematic tie-in achievement, but I still had to do some exploring to find the exact location — and I found another lorescroll in the process!
My Pandaren Mage is still on the Wandering Isle. When she gets to Orgrimmar and the barbershop, I’ll update the Azeroth Beautician’s Manual of Feminine Style with Pandaren information. By the time I had located three of the Ancient Elemental Spirits of the Wandering Isle, I had a hypothesis about what kind of face the fourth one would have — and I was right! There’s a mini-post in that, later. I like both Ji Firepaw and Aysa Cloudsinger immensely. They seem very familiar to me, and it didn’t take long to figure out why — Ji Firepaw is a classic Gryffindor personality, and Aysa Cloudsinger is a classic Ravenclaw personality.
