When the Argent Tournament first debuted, I hated jousting. It took me a long time to get the hang of it. I still don’t do the ICC courtyard jousting quest because it was so annoying.
This one, though, this here Golden Lotus daily, is worse. The most obnoxious thing about it is that the guys continue to kick your body around even after you are dead, delaying your ability to release and run back.
At least your gear doesn’t take durability damage from those deaths, that’s a mercy.
The fireworks one isn’t nearly as difficult.
And no, I don’t want your super special tricks and tips on how to do it right.
I just want your sympathy.
I hate that one too. The fire version is much easier. I mostly just try to heal myself through it. I’m sure there are super special tricks and tips to do it right, but I’ve been too lazy to look them up.
Oh, good, I’m glad I’m not the only one.
How do you stand still long enough to heal yourself through it? Oh, right, Druid, HoTs….
I’m usually in Elemental when I’m doing my dailies, and even Healing Surge doesn’t cast fast enough for me to get one off before the guys are running at me again. Perhaps I should remember to use Spiritwalker’s Grace, but the CD on that is long enough that I’m not sure how much it would really help.
Mostly I just Rejuv myself and then spam cast Healing Touch on myself and occasionally one gets through. Now that I think about it, I should really just switch to Resto spec for that daily and use swiftmend and regrowth. LOL
There has to be a way that you are supposed to do it. Maybe one day I’ll decide I want the achievement for not taking any damage while doing those dailies and look up the correct method.
I’m not up to that yet. Maybe I should be glad. I can hear Illidan yelling at me now “You are not prepared!”. I am not sure I will ever be prepared to be kicked around like a furryfootball.

After failing at that daily four times today, I gave up. Then I proceeded to be irritated by everything else in Pandaria that has a knockback ability.
Don’t tell me this is a daily that you need to get raid ready, is it?
Well… it’s one of the Golden Lotus dailies that unlocks at Honored, and you have to get past it and one other, easier daily to do three more dailies and kill the daily elite for the Treasures of the Vale prize.
Oh no, just hit honored last night, so this is what’s in store for me. I will soon feel your pain. This sounds even worse than worms.
At least it’s not the blades every day. The other survival ring daily that I’ve seen is staying out of fireworks crashes, and that one is lots easier.
Ooh, for once it seems that RNG is in my favour, haven’t seen that one yet. Just getting a run of the fireworks one at the moment.

It’s certainly worth seeing and trying. I just got really frustrated last night because I failed it four times in a row, and of course my rez timer got longer and longer with each failure. It always seems that if I get hit by one guy, I get knocked into two or three others, and then I just can’t get out.
I only had to do it once so far, I think it rotates with other dailies. As a Prot warrior, with no healing it was a LOT harder than I thought.
This is one of these dailies that actually requires some skill to complete, which is probably why I’m so bad at it. I suppose that if I keep trying, I’ll get the hang of it eventually, just like I did with the jousting — but for now, I’m so glad that the blades version rotates with the fireworks version, otherwise I’d never get from Honored to Revered with Golden Lotus!
