Last year, Angelya took her own spin on NaNoWriMo by substituting pictures for words to create IntPiPoMo:
Y’see, a picture is worth a thousand words. The NaNoWriMo word target is fifty thousand. That means our IntPiPoMo target is fifty pictures, over the thirty days of November…. you can post pictures of whatever you like – doesn’t even have to be WoW related.
I didn’t participate last year, but I thought I’d give it a try this year.
Today is Day of the Dead in WoW, a holiday loosely based on the traditional Mexican celebration of the same name.

In the game, you can make Bread of the Dead to give to the cheerful ghosts at your racial capital in exchange for a Macabre Marionette.
I made some real Pan de Muertos today, using the Diana Kennedy recipe, more or less — I made a half-recipe, used one whole egg for every two egg yolks, and added anise seeds.

It’s a delightfully soft, tender bread with a subtle flavor. The dark color comes from brushing the dough with egg yolk immediately before putting it in the oven, and the grainy surface texture comes from brushing the loaf with melted butter and then sprinkling it with sugar immediately after removing it from the oven.
#IntPiPoMo 2/50
Aw, I managed to miss the Day of the Dead completely this year
That bread looks rather interesting though, is it a sweet bread or is it just the sugar on top?
Glad to have you along for IntPiPoMo
The dough is a bit sweet, but not as sweet as I thought I remembered it being. Most of the sweetness of the final loaf is in the sugar on the top.
I will have to try it, wonder if it’s as good as the fish recipe was!
I hope it turns out well for you! I ignored the bits in the recipe about changing to a clean bowl all the time and just did everything in the same big mixing bowl.
I missed it too. That bread looks interesting
It’s good stuff, for sure
The recipe looks a bit similar to Challah; I might have to try it sometime!
With its high egg content, this bread is rather a lot like a challah. In fact, I thought about not doing the traditional skull-and-crossbones shape and doing a three-stranded braid instead… but then it wouldn’t have made as topically-appropriate a picture for my post
Ooh, I might have to make some tomorrow. If memory serves, I used to rather like it dipped in honey for a sweet breakfast overload.
This is definitely the sort of bread that makes fantastic toast, and mmm with honey, even better!
Ahhh it looks delicious! I didn’t get to log in for DotD at all this year, sad!!
The really short holidays go by so fast that they’re easy to miss!
