A few weeks ago, Ketura went back to Northrend and began camping in Brunnhildar Village, smacking around poor tired miners and Hyldsmeet contestants and aspiring Val’kyr in hopes that someday Gretta the Arbiter would deem her worthy of a Warbear of her very own.
A week or so later, I brought Kinevra back to Brunnhildar Village, too, thinking that if I had two characters doing those dailies, I might get the bear a little sooner.
Today, Kinevra opened up her sack of Hyldnir spoils and lo and behold, there was the bear!

Hurrah! No more snowballs and salted yeti cheese!

That’s one more mount for my tally, but more importantly, now my Dwarf gals can have a loyal bear friend without having to be Hunters. ![]()

I…I…I didn’t know this existed! How did I not know about this?? And why, oh why, couldn’t I have found out about sometime that I wasn’t already drowning in more dailies than I can handle???
You have to play through the first part of the Sons of Hodir quest chain (starting with “They Took Our Men!” in K3, approximately through “The Drakkensryd”) to get these dailies to open up. Only one of the four is offered each day, and the drop chance for the white bear mount is rather low. The disciplining miners and defending your title quests are in the village and take only a few minutes. The warbear pit quest is also in the village, but, being a vehicle quest, it goes kind of slow. The frost oil quest probably takes the longest because you have to fly out to Valkyrion and back. Even so, it’s only about fifteen minutes a day. If you’ve got a level 80+ alt who isn’t doing anything better, I recommend camping them in Brunnhildar Village, rather than running back and forth with your main.
I did these when I was leveling through the area, but I only vaguely remember the actual dailies. I didn’t know at the time there was a mount as a possible reward. My 90 is a mage, so it’s not too bad getting back and forth.
I did tonight’s right after posting, actually. Cheese and 1g…
Good luck!
Congrats! It took me a LONG time to get that bear too!
Thank you!
Grats on your lovely bear! And why is it that a Dwarf looks so perfect mounted on one.
Thank you! I don’t know what it is about Dwarves and bears — actually I do know what it is, it’s the Classic WoW cinematic — but they go so well together! I did already have the Armored Brown Bear from Mei Francis in Dalaran, but dangit, I wanted the white one because of Iorek Bjarnson in The Golden Compass.
Grats!
Thanks!
Congratulations!
I am totes jealous
Hubby got that bear the first time… >.>
Thank you! Getting the bear the first time, wow, that is really lucky!
You….. /opens and closes mouth
You have no idea how lucky you are!
I tried for that bear daily for over six months, and finally gave up. You know the drop rate is abysmal when I got some of the whelpings to drop (in pre-cata zones) after only a month or so.
Congrats!
Oh, my… I guess I did get lucky, to get it after only about a month of doing it.
Thanks!
Grats
(This is where all my RNG luck ever converges, I got my bear in my first ever bag. Although every other mount since has taken a very long time to balance it out).
Thanks! And grats to you, too
The Dwarf Ladies getting their Bear Friend is the most important thing of all!
I mean, a Dwarven Lady without a Bear, is like…is like…
Oh, the thought is to dreadful to think!
Z
Indeed!
Gratz on the bear! I love mine I have a fascination with all the bear mounts
They all look so amazing!
Thanks! The bear mounts are pretty cool for sure
