The next time Kamalia came to the Seat of Knowledge, after having assisted in the defeat of Garrosh Hellscream, Lorewalker Cho trotted down from the dais to meet her, saying, “My friend, please meet me near the Big Blossom Mine in the center of the Vale. There is something I wish to show you there.”
This is a story about the lore event that unlocks following one’s first victory over Garrosh Hellscream. If you have not yet defeated Garrosh yourself, you may not want to continue reading it. Otherwise, read more.
Kamalia accompanied her first pandaren friend to the bell which had once stood at the edge of shimmering pools surrounding the base of Mogu’shan Palace. Kneeling before the shrine, Lorewalker Cho touched the scroll containing the last portion of The Burdens of Shaohao and spoke reverently.
Though Kamalia had seen the Last Emperor herself on the slopes of Mount Neverest and at the Celestial Court, she was still filled with awe as he appeared before them.
Her skin tingled and all her fur stood on end as the four August Celestials materialized.
When he had finished speaking, Shaohao withdrew a glowing seed from his robe, then knelt and gently pushed it into the sha-scorched earth.
Incredibly, it immediately sprang up into a seedling that shot heavenward in a great burst of light. When Kamalia’s vision cleared, the Last Emperor was gone, and the seedling had grown into one of the beautiful golden trees that had previously filled the Vale. She was irresistably reminded of the miracle of Aessina that she had witnessed on the fire-ravaged slopes of Mount Hyjal.
Though the Emperor had gone, the Celestials were still gathered around the wondrous tree. Kamalia spoke with each of them.
After a moment, Yu’lon turned back and looked Kamalia in the eye. “Do you remember, little one, what I told you in the Jade Forest?”
Though it had really only been about five seasons, the fateful crash of Hellscream’s Fist onto the cliffs above Honeydew Village in the Jade Forest and all the adventures that had come afterward seemed like they had happened a lifetime ago. Kamalia’s memories of her first encounters with the Jade Serpent, however, remained crystal clear.
” ‘YOU are that reason’,” Kamalia murmured.
“Yes,” said Yu’lon, “It is clear to me, now, why the mists parted. I believe that your purpose for coming here has now been fulfilled. Well done, my friend.”
