Autumn has arrived, and with it, sweater weather.
If you’ve been to Steelgrill’s Depot recently, these sporty sweaters should look familiar:
On the left, the Sage’s cloth armor set. This is what the Gnomish Army wears as their uniforms.
In the middle, the Shimmering cloth armor set. Torren Squarejaw, a member of the Explorer’s League found in Thelsamar, is wearing this set.
On the right, a set that you have to be an Alliance, goblin-specialized engineer who is not a priest, mage, or warlock to obtain & wear. The X-52 Pilot’s Leggings pants are leather. The Crimson Tunic is awarded from an Alliance-only quest at Theramore; NPCs such as Sraaz and Stoley are wearing this sweater. The Goblin Rocket Boots can only be made and worn by goblin-specialized engineers (the Gnomish Rocket Boots look exactly like the Sage’s Boots). There is no red match of the Sage’s/Shimmering belt style available to players, so I’ve used here the leather Bard’s Belt. The gloves are the Buccaneer’s Gloves.
This is the outfit worn by the Gnomeregan Medics and Holdout Medics, but unless Blizzard is planning to allow priests to wear leather in Cataclysm, which thing I have not heard, player character Gnome Priests will be sadly unable to wear it.
You also see the red and blue versions of the sweater and striped pants on the Loot Crazed Divers at Lake Kum’uya in the Borean Tundra.
Here I’ve paired up the Sporty Sweaters with matching colored linen shirts and some plainer pants; from left to right, Azure Silk Pants, Scout’s Pants (lvl 1 Draenei Hunter or Shaman), Crimson Silk Pantaloons. There is no green version of the Azure Silk Pants/Crimson Pantaloons style, so I picked the closest match I could find. You could also use the Regal Leggings, Greenkeeper’s Pantaloons/Greenblood Pantaloons, or Imperial Red Pants, respectively.
Perhaps, though, you’re looking for something a little warmer and cozier.
On the left, the Seer’s Padded Armor, one of my favorite causal-wear chestpieces in the game. If you’re in Northrend, you can also find the Frost-Rimed Cloth Vest, which on the one hand is non-binding, but on the other hand, requires level 77 to wear. I’ve paired it up with a Knitted Belt, Royal Trousers, and Apprentice Boots.
In the middle, the Dilapidated Cloth Vest or Loosely Threaded Vest, an attractive darker blue version of this sweater which is also non-binding and requires level 67 or 61 to wear, respectively. Shown here with a Simple Kilt.
On the right, the Thread-Bare Cloth Vest, another non-binding Northrend drop, this one requiring level 71 to wear. Shown with the Durable Pants.
Any of these sweaters, in combination with leg- and foot-wear of your choice, would be splendid apparel for Brewfest or Hallow’s End questing and partying. Go forth and enjoy a fabulous Fall!
I loved this post, a very enjoyable read – and it happens just as I switch to heavier knits IRL. FABULOUS.
Just what I was aiming for! Thanks! 😀
[…] I discussed the base sets shown here (top left & bottom right) in my previous post about sporty, stylish sweaters. The red Crimson Tunic is Alliance-only, the red X-52 Pilot’s Leggings are leather, and the […]
