One of the first Draenei Archaeology artifacts I found was the Anklet with Golden Bells: “This slim loop of purple metal is adorned with seventeen tiny bells and larger yellow beads of blown glass. It might have been worn by a dancer or a young socialite.”
This description was just begging for a drawing. I doodled one up on Sunday afternoon and posted it right away. After I got it posted, however, the more I looked at it, the more I disliked it. I liked some of the individual elements of the picture, but the overall image was clunky. For example, the dress, which was copied from one I saw IRL, was a lot of fun to color, but I think it would look a lot better on a Troll, a Gnome, or a Goblin than it did on a Draenei. Eventually I decided to take down the whole post and try again. I’m a lot happier with how this one turned out:
Once I’d decided to do a back view, this picture threatened to go all Degas on me. I had to sternly talk myself out of putting her hair in the little buns, or I would then have been very tempted to put her tush in a tutu.
