I love the Barbershop. It was one of my favorite new things about Wrath of the Lich King, and I continue to have fun with it. Some of my characters — mostly my Tauren — have set visages. Others, like my Blood Elves and my Humans, may vary occasionally in shade and style, but generally go back to their default appearance pretty quickly. My Troll and Night Elf characters, being of races with especially vibrant hair, tend to change their colors and styles at my every whim.
For some time now I have been assembling a guide to the Barbershop for female characters (someone else will have to tackle the project of making one for male characters) on the Kirina’s Closet forums. With Patch 4.0.6 finally allowing Worgen to work properly in the Barbershop, my guide is now complete and I decided it was time to cross-post it here to my blog.

Some notes about color:
The color of a Night Elf or Troll Druid’s animal forms is linked to their caster form hair color. The color of a Tauren Druid’s animal forms is linked to their caster form fur color/skin tone. The color of a Worgen Druid’s animal forms is linked to the hair color of their human form. For a guide to the relationship between caster form coloration and animal form coloration, see the excellent charts prepared by Lissanna of Restonkin.
The hair color in human form and fur color in werewolf form of a Worgen are completely independent. The fur color of a Worgen’s werewolf form is linked to the skin tone of their human form.
For every race except Undead, the DK creation screen adds three extra faces that, when chosen, restrict the character’s skin tone to three necrotic colors (ashy pale, dusky black, and grey-green). A Tauren or Worgen DK may only have the three DK fur colors by choosing one of the DK faces. A Tauren or Worgen DK who has not chosen a DK face cannot access the DK fur colors at the barbershop, and a Tauren or Worgen DK who has chosen a DK face may access only the three DK fur colors, even at the barbershop.
Goblin DKs are restricted to the three DK hair colors, whether or not they have chosen one of the three DK faces. Worgen DKs do not get any special DK hair colors for their human form. A Worgen DK who has chosen one of the DK faces and fur colors will still have one of the five standard Worgen-in-human-form hair colors.
Pandaren have both a skin tone and a hair color, both of which can be changed at the Barbershop. A Pandaren’s hair is mostly the same color as her skin tone, with bright streaks whose color is adjusted by the “hair color” selection. Hair color selections exist to match the color of the streaks with each of the available skin tones, allowing a Pandaren to have solid-colored hair of the same shade as her skin tone if she so desires. I have chosen to only show the colors available for the streaks on this page. The skin tone shades are shown in the faces and skin tones appendix.

I could suggest some alternate colour names such as ‘leaf’, ‘cyan’, ‘indigo’ but it’s hardly important. This is generous work you’ve done, thank you!
Thank you very much! Though with the new models coming out soon, this is all going to be a bit out of date and I’m not going to have the time to update it, alas.
