A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Blood Elf Mage. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).
Shawl of Wonderment, Hexweave Robe (2-655), Hexweave Belt (1-640), Breezebinder Handwraps, Cushy Cenarion Walkers, Wand of Cleansing Light, Frostwolf Wind-Talker Rod
The colors of this kit remind me of the quality of light in the very early morning, when it is light enough to see clearly, but before the sun has fully come over the horizon.
Savage Blood required: 15
Mag’hari Ritualist’s Horns, Green Silken Shoulders, Beastwalker Robe, Ruthless Gladiator’s Cord of Accuracy, Black Mageweave Gloves, Boots of the Divine Light, Shard of Azzinoth, Book of Origination
My collection of Burning Legion-inspired outfits would not have been complete without a kit using this robe, with its black and green color scheme. Any boots that are an appropriate shade of black will do; these are just the ones that I happened to have on hand. Kaelinda has collected all the colors of this robe… I should start working on making kits to go with each of them.
Rhinestone Sunglasses, Mantle of the Burning Scroll (LFR), Vestments of the Shifting Sands, Ruthless Gladiator’s Cord of Accuracy, Greenkeeper’s Pantaloons, Widow’s Clutches + The Lady’s Brittle Bracers (25N), Ikeyen’s Boots, Green Linen Shirt, Vengeance Staff
Sometime during the first half of 2015, I found a pair of Rhinestone Sunglasses on the AH for the surprisingly reasonable price of 500 gold. I’d intended just to have my Banker wear them, but it quickly occurred to me that they’d coordinate perfectly with this outfit. This is a higher-level, more elaborate version of an outfit concept that I originally designed for my Warlock in 2012 using the Embersilk Robes. I had not previously obtained the belt because it costs Honor, and I avoid PvP as much as I can. One afternoon, however, I made a wonderful discovery! I was idly browsing the AH with my Banker and looked at the “Junk” tab in the “Miscellaneous” category just to see what was there, and I found Champion’s Honor tokens. On my server, it seems that the price of Honor is 10.5 gold per Honor point. Thanks to Garrison missions, I’ve had plenty of gold on hand during Warlords, so I was perfectly happy to fork over 10.5K to get this belt without actually having to PvP.
This kit would also look fabulous with the Fel-Proof Goggles.
We all know that the Exodar is a disco (right?), but Sin’dorei are not exactly welcome there, so I boogied down in the Shattrath Residential District instead.
Mantle of the Golden Sun, Hexweave Robe (1-640), Klaxxi Lash of the Orator, Cloudscorcher Handwraps, Unassuming Slippers, Brilliant Hexweave Cloak (1-640), Cindermaw’s Blazing Talon, Shadowtome (1-630)
First of a series of kits going through the upgrade stages of the Warlords crafted cloth items.
Mists and Warlords items coordinate so well so frequently that I wonder if the use of common color palettes was deliberate.

Twilight Mantle, Grimfrost Arcanist Robe, Turquoise Sash*, Breezebinder Handwraps, Cushy Cenarion Walkers, Cloak of Cheerful Flowers, Formal White Shirt, Frostbitten Staff
Some of the Warlords robe styles have an odd issue where they show a band of boot color around the hem of the skirt. The boots that match this robe style are more like really tattered socks — they leave the toes cold and don’t cover much of the ankle — and they show as a band of skin color on the robe. That looks really strange, but fortunately it’s pretty easy to find some boots that coordinate with the main color of the robe. If you haven’t got these Outland quest reward boots, the Royal Boots also work well.
Lightning Infused Mantle, Robe of the Magi, Wizard’s Belt/High Councillor’s Sash, Cloudscorcher Handwraps, Cushy Cenarion Walkers/Slippers of Serenity, Staff of the Arcane Path/Staff of the Royal Wizard
Kaelinda has a serious case of faction envy and would Blink over to the Alliance just as fast as she could if High Elves ever became a playable race for the Alliance. Seeing the Alliance’s Mage Tower when I finally got to Ashran with my Draenei Mage, I knew that Kaelinda would want to have that structure, not the Horde’s Spirit Lodge, in her Garrison.
Kinevra, the wide-eyed, freckle-faced teenager from Theramore with a hopeless crush on Anduin Wrynn, had no desire to continue leveling; with a change of name and face, my level 90 Human Mage is now Kaylynda, Kaelinda’s Alliance doppelganger/surrogate.
Heiress of Antiquity
Hood of the Shuffled Coil, Runecloth Shoulders, Robes of Antiquity, Replica Magister’s Belt, Jumanza Grips, Kodo Rustler Boots*, Spellbound Cloak, Golden Filigreed Doublet, The Staff of Twin Worlds
Kaelinda obtained this robe from a short Alliance-only quest chain at the Zoram Strand in Ashenvale while she was masquerading as a Human shortly before the Shattering. I’m delighted with how nicely the Cataclysm-era crown matches; I like this style of hat and had been wanting to use it.
Replica Shado-Pan Helmet, Nether Guards, Sparklight Robes, Girdle of Glowing Light, Black Mageweave Gloves, Unassuming Slippers, Rod of the Blazing Light
When I was originally designing this outfit in MogIt, I was struck by how well the T15-Normal Priest-lookalike Quet’zal’s Crackling Cord matched this robe. That item was well out of my solo-player reach, however, so I chose something else. Later, the rep requirements for many Shado-Pan Assault items were lowered, allowing me to gain the required reputation (Friendly) to buy the Valor Points version of the belt from a single clear of the first wing of Throne of Thunder LFR. Huzzah!
Shadra’s Burning Scroll
Burning Scroll Hood & Mantle (LFR), Hibernal Robe, Sorcerer’s Belt of Final Winter, Shimmering Gloves + Goldenvine Wraps, Ikeyen’s Boots, Formal White Shirt, Inscribed Serpent Staff
Dragonray’s ROYGBiV-Yellow outfit inspired Kaelinda to dive into Terrace of Endless Spring LFR. Luckily, it only took two weeks for her to win both the hat and the shoulders — and the belt. This kit would be very appropriate for a Troll!
Cold Never Bothered Me, Anyway
Twilight Mantle, Will of Edward the Odd, Replica Virtuous Belt, Breezebinder Handwraps, Cushy Cenarion Walkers, Icy Cloak, Ethereum Life-Staff, Anglers Tabard
I first learned about Bipsi’s Bobbing Berg from Cymre at Christmastime. A few days after Cymre’s post, before Winter Veil ended, I saw a Mage standing on Bipsi’s Bobbing Berg in the Thunder Bluff fishpond, also using the Winter Veil Disguise Kit — it was really cute, I should have taken a screenshot! More recently, Vidyala discovered the Berg, and her post prompted me to get Kaelinda out to Angler’s Wharf to earn it.
It didn’t take long for Kaelinda to reach Revered with the Anglers so that she could buy the Berg. Getting her fishing skill to 525 so that she could actually use the Berg, however, was another matter. She ended up staying at Angler’s Wharf long past the time when she became Exalted with them getting her skill up a guaranteed three points per day from the quests, plus a few extra if the day’s quests included Wolf Piranha or Dojani Eel.
Kaelinda’s sense of identity is so strongly associated with her hair color that she only allows it to be changed away from either copper or red-gold for brief costume photoshoots. Though she certainly looks gorgeous in this outfit with the platinum blonde braid, she wouldn’t have felt like herself if I’d left her hair that way for very long.
Junior Technician 3rd Grade Goggles, Tattered Dreadmist Mantle, Astralaan Robe, Arcanist Belt, Widow’s Clutches, Ruby Slippers , Cloak of Azure Lights, Formal White Shirt, Staff of Twin Worlds
I’ve been wanting to make this outfit for a long time! About two years ago, I discovered the wonderful combination of Ruby Slippers + Widow’s Clutches when using Kaelinda’s current outfit as the basis for an “evening gown” for Matty’s ‘Azeroth’s Next Top Plate Model’ event. At the time, Kaelinda was between levels 65 and 70, and wearing an outfit that included these goggles, shoulders, and robe. I usually Transmogrify over these shoulders when any character but my Warlock is wearing them, but the colors match this robe so nicely that I chose to leave them alone for this kit.
Junior Technician 3rd Grade Goggles, Gossamer Shoulderpads, Vestments of the Shifting Sands, Arcanist Belt, Astralaan Pants, Widow’s Clutches + Silkwood Cuffs, Ruby Slippers , Cloak of Azure Lights, Formal White Shirt, Staff of Twin Worlds
After having gone to rather a great deal of effort to acquire the Ruby Slippers and matching Widow’s Clutches, Kaelinda knew exactly which robe she wanted to wear with them first. Fortunately, it only took her two resets of AQ20 to get it. I prefer to wear a white bodysuit underneath this style of robe because I am uncomfortable with showing this much skin — feel free to leave off the shirt and use more revealing pants if you so desire.
Starfire Tiara, Nether Guards, Simple Robe, Apothecary’s Waistband/Captain Sanders’ Sash, Earthmender’s Bracer of Shattering, Bloody Surgeon’s Mitts, Shimmering Boots, Red Riding Hood’s Cloak, Golden Filigreed Doublet, Staff of the Sun
The Starfire Tiara drops from Jed Runewatcher, a rare spawn in the Furnace area of Upper Blackrock Spire. With Blackrock Spire scheduled for a makeover in Warlords of Draenor, if you want this hat, you’d better go farm it up now!
This outfit would also look great with other red hats such as the Crown of Endless Knowledge/Tourmaline Crown, Red Pointy Hat, or Crimson Felt Hat/Mirren’s Drinking Hat.
Gossamer Shoulderpads, Robe of Crystal Waters*, Sutarn’s Ring, Brightcloth Gloves, Cushy Cenarion Walkers, Staff of the Arcane Path
This lovely robe was awarded from an Alliance-only questchain in Stranglethorn Vale that disappeared in the Cataclysm. Kaelinda picked it up while she was briefly a human a few years ago. Similar looks could be made with the Robes of the Exalted or Robes of the Guardian Saint.
Elunarian Spaulders, Conjurer’s Vest, Arcane Sash, Wandering Healer’s Kilt, Runecloth Gloves, Ikeyen’s Boots, Gwyneth’s Runed Dragonwand, Suntouched Flowers
Upon reaching level 78, Kaelinda was at last able to equip the Gwyneth’s Runed Dragonwand that she’d had saved away in her bank for quite some time. This outfit is based on a concept that I designed for Mog Madness Round I.
Magistrix of the Kirin Tor
Junior Technician 3rd Grade Goggles, Elder Wizard’s Mantle, Sketh’lon Survivor’s Tunic, Magister’s Belt, Soothsayer’s Kilt, Runecloth Gloves, Kodo Rustler Boots*, Spellbound Cloak, Lavender Mageweave Shirt, Staff of Twin Worlds, Tabard of the Kirin Tor
The goggles and the brown gloves and shoes give this outfit a different feel than Kinevra’s “Jaina lookalike” outfit. The accessories I used for Kaelinda’s Alanna’s Embrace outfit also look great with this tunic+kilt.
Crown of Endless Knowledge, Merciless Gladiator’s Silk Amice & Raiment, Gossamer Belt, Brightcloth Gloves, Cushy Cenarion Walkers, Invincible Stave, Stylish Red Shirt
During a recent Horde-side LBR excursion to Tempest Keep, Kaelinda was lucky enough to pick up the T5 shoulder and chestpiece tokens. I decided to turn them in at Quel’Danas for the PvP items because I’ve always liked the rich, jewel-like colors of the Merciless Gladiator’s Silk set.
Winter Veil Elegance
Ata’mal Crown, Nether Guards, Robes of Insight, Voidweave Cilice, Astralaan pants, Shimmering gloves & boots, Goldenvine Wraps, Formal White Shirt, Invincible Stave
The Crown of Endless Knowledge or Red Pointy Hat would be great alternate headpieces.
I prefer to wear a white bodysuit underneath this style of robe because I am uncomfortable with showing this much skin — feel free to leave off the shirt and use more revealing pants if you so desire.
Hood of the Arcane Path, Orchid Amice*, Alanna’s Embrace*, Magister’s Belt, Jumanza Grips, Shimmering/Ivycloth Boots, Formal White Shirt, Pilfered Ethereal Blade, Dreamseeker Dandelion
I farmed Scholomance diligently before Patch 5.0 dropped to get this robe.
I also like how this set looks with the Lavender Mageweave Shirt or the Sleeveless T-Shirt.
The Mystical Mantle would be a good alternative to the Orchid Amice.
Elementalist Skullcap, Exquisite Sunderseer Mantle, Imperial Red Robe, Voidweave Cilice, Black Mageweave Gloves, Archaeologist’s Quarry Boots*
If you were fortunate enough to acquire (and keep) the Clutch of Andros before Scholmance was revamped, that relatively plain black belt also looks very good with this set. The Black Belt of Knowledge coordinates well with this style of robe, too.
