Lately I’ve been working on a handful of sets of themed Transmogrification kits. Some of them are still no more than ideas in my brain, and all of them are at the mercy of Lady RNG in my weekly old raid farming for various items that I want to make them. In the meantime, here are some kits I’ve made that don’t fit into any of my current theme projects.
Wildguard Helm, Jade Epaulets, Iceguard Breastplate & Leggings, Rainbow Girdle, Gauntlets of Purification, Boots of Avoidance, Slavemaster Axe, Order of the Cloud Serpent Tabard
I think this tabard is rather pretty, and I’d been wanting to make an outfit to go with it for some time. Somewhat surprisingly, it’s plate armor that has a couple of sets with just the right pastel colors.
Doomed Crown of Lei Shen (LFR), Contender’s Revenant shoulders breastplate & leggings, Truesteel belt gloves & boots (1-640), Tidebreaker Trident
This hat is so ridculously silly that I can’t resist putting it atop any armor that is the right shade of bronze to match it.
I originally designed this kit with Gorehowl as the weapon, but after having spent months farming Karazhan for the dang thing, when it came time to actually make the kit, I decided that I liked the look of this trident better. I also decided that the overall effect looked better with one weapon instead of two, so Keija has switched to Arms for the time being.
Nayeli Hood, Mantle of the Exorcist (LFR), Orunai Robe, Hexweave Belt (1-640), Blubber-Stained Grips, Sen’jin Doublet, Voodoo Hex-Staff
So I thought to myself, as long as I’m still on Draenor, I might as well go ahead and try to make kits for all three colors of this Draenor robe. I’m not all that fond of the style, so I’ll doubt that I’ll use it again once Warlords is over. As I was looking for items already in my inventory to wear with it, these similarly colored items appealed to me. Despite the overall appearance being an odd conglomeration of Pandaren and Troll influences, I rather like it. I’ll grant, though, that it does look a little less silly without the hat.
Yeah, yeah, I know that Shado-Pan hats are so last expansion. The fact remains, though, that “What My Characters are Wearing with their Shado-Pan Helmets” consistently continues to be one of my top hit-generating posts. I’ll keep getting Shado-Pan hats with my alts as they reach level 90, and each new character that gets a Shado-Pan hat will also get a unique outfit to wear with it.
Replica Shado-Pan Helmet, Mantle of the Elven Kings, Red Mageweave Vest, Sash of the Burning Heart, Legs of Ringing Echoes, Gloves of Tirisfal, Saltarello Shoes, Cloak of Passion, Dark Silk Shirt, Archmage’s Staff*
This kit resulted from the notion of using these specific pants in a Shado-Pan helmet outfit. I chose this tunic because it makes the red band at the top of the pants looks like an extension of the tunic rather than part of the pants themselves.
This staff came from the limited-time pre-Mists-launch version of the Theramore’s Fall scenario. There are several other staves that would look good with this kit, though.
Shado-Pan Dark Disciple
Replica Shado-Pan Helmet, Runic Plate Shoulders, Slavebreaker Chestguard, Thorium Belt, Hollowheart Legguards, Zaxxis Gloves, Bloodforged Sabatons, Cloak of the Dark Disciple, Rustic Workman’s Shirt, Rage Reaver
I could have just plopped the Shado-Pan Helmet atop the black-and-red “Blood Runes” outfit I’d previously made for the Underpowered Death Knight. It would have looked great, but I wanted to make a new outfit. As I looked through her available gear, I discovered that I really liked the way the browns of the quest reward items from the first part of the Tanaan Invasion questline looked with the dark brown wooden brim of the hat.
