Here are some kits that I edited out of the Savage Blood Fashion Parade, Revisited: Cloth post because the only Warlords crafted item they use is one version or another of the Hexweave Belt.
Shadowmoon Shoulderguards, Fur Covered Robe, Hexweave Belt (2-655), Grips of the Void + Crystalweave Bracers, Waterfall Drape, Squire’s Shirt, Staff of the Redeemer
This kit came about because I wanted to use the stage 2 version of the Hexweave Belt — but not with its own robe — and thought it might be a good alternate belt for the Shadowmoon set. It is, but I’m not really all that fond of the Shadowmoon robe, so I looked for other robes I already owned that looked good with the combination of the Hexweave belt and Shadowmoon shoulders. It seemed appropriate that this classically Draenei-styled robe from Azuremyst Isle questing looked the nicest overall! After I’d decided to use this robe, it only seemed right to make the outfit with my Draenei Mage (who was badly in need of a new outfit anyway) rather than with any of my other characters.
Poor Kaprikka, after pushing her hard to get to 90 and having her be my second character to go to Draenor, I soon abandoned her to play Kaylynda as my Alliance main instead.
Savage Blood required: 15
Shadowmoon Shoulderguards, Robes of the Arcane Ultimatum, Hexweave Belt (2-655), Mountainsage Handwraps + Dryad’s Wrist Bindings, Cavedweller’s Climbers, Staff of Infinite Mysteries
Kaylynda got this robe from a Highmaul follower mission, and I remembered that I had thought, upon first seeing the previews for the Highmaul Mage set, that the Shadowmoon shoulders might be good alternates. This also seemed like a good use for the stage 2 Hexweave belt.
Savage Blood required: 15
Nayeli Hood, Mantle of the Exorcist (LFR), Orunai Robe, Hexweave Belt (1-640), Blubber-Stained Grips, Sen’jin Doublet, Voodoo Hex-Staff
So I thought to myself, as long as I’m still on Draenor, I might as well go ahead and try to make kits for all three colors of this Draenor robe. I’m not all that fond of the style, so I’ll doubt that I’ll use it again once Warlords is over. As I was looking for items already in my inventory to wear with it, these similarly colored items appealed to me. Despite the overall appearance being an odd conglomeration of Pandaren and Troll influences, I rather like it. I’ll grant, though, that it does look a little less silly without the hat.
Witch Queen of Angmar or Warlock-Wannabe
Vilebreath Mask, Illidari Shoulderpads, Robes of the Umbral Brute, Hexweave Belt (1-640), Amaranthine Handwraps, Shattrath Jumpers, Malroc’s Staff of Command
For some reason, the coloration combined with the design of this robe always reminds me of the scene in Lord of the Rings: Return of the King where Frodo, Sam, and Gollum are on the concealed mountain stairway overlooking the gates of Angmar when the Witch King goes out to hunt.
The shoulders are a recolor of Warlock T5, and the robe is a recolor of Warlock T8, and the hat, though actually a Warlords Priest tier-lookalike item, recalls the Warlock T4 helm — thus, this is a kit for all those Mages and Shadow Priests who just wish they were as awesome as Warlocks.
To be quite honest, one of my reasons for making a separate post out of this group of kits in which the only Warlords crafted item is the Hexweave Belt was that I hadn’t gotten the shoulders for this outfit to drop for my Warlock by the time I wanted to start posting the Savage Blood Fashion Parade, Revisited series.
And while we’re on the subject of more kits using Warlords crafted items, here are some iterations on the plate designs that I just thought of.
Everbright Truesteel I
Everbright shoulders belt gloves & boots, Truesteel Breastplate & Greaves (3-670), Admiral Taylor’s Greatsword
So I thought to myself, if I liked the combination of the maroon Elder Tortoiseshell and stage 2 Truesteel items so much, the combination of the periwinkle blue Everbright and stage 3 Truesteel items ought to be equally attractive.
While creating this outfit, I also discovered that with the new Appearances feature, Horde characters can now use the appearance of Admiral Taylor’s Greatsword for Transmogrification. Hurrah!
Everbright Truesteel II
Truesteel shoulders belt gloves & boots (3-670), Everbright Breastplate & Legplates, Azuresong Mageblade, King’s Bulwark
It was rather tempting to just use the Steelforged Saber and Steelforged Aegis with this kit, as they were designed to go with the Truesteel items and do look fabulous with them — but that didn’t feel sufficiently creative and also distracted from the armor itself. If Karaelia were an Alliance Paladin, though, I might have used the Lion’s Fang and Lion’s Heart instead of these plainer items.
