I finally got the last of my characters through the Broken Shore event and their first Demon Invasion. Then I did a few more Demon Invasions with various characters until I’d completed the Transmogrification sets for each armor type. In the process, my Monk got that sweet looking polearm — the only one of the Invasions weapons that I was really truly interested in collecting for its appearance. I’m almost done with Invasions. My DK is still farming for the 2H axe and collecting Nethershards to get upgrade tokens for it so that she can use it for her off-spec during Legion*.
I also have yet to play through the Demon Hunter starting experience. I’d like to do that before August 30, though — in the lull between the big crowds from the early access and the big crowds from the actual launch. I think I’m just going to buy the Invasions warglaive for my Demon Hunter with some of Kamalia’s Nethershards so that I don’t have to worry about farming for the drop.
Anyhow, with Invasions no longer a top priority for my playtime, it was time to visit Dalaran in its temporary location over Karazhan. I did it with Kamalia. Then I did it with my Alliance Mage.
Once upon a time, I thought I’d like to play my Blood Elf Mage through the Patch 5.1/Divine Bell questline so that she could see Lor’themar being awesome. As time has gone on, though, I’ve found myself not wanting to do it because I don’t want that specific character** to be complicit in the theft of the Divine Bell. I want Kaelinda, personally, to genuinely be innocent of participating in that cause of Jaina’s wrath — she didn’t help do it; she was elsewhere; she didn’t even know that it was happening until after it had already happened.
Oh, Jaina, if only you could put aside your anger and your heartache for long enough to have a serious conversation about all this with Baine (maybe with Anduin moderating)… It couldn’t undo what has been done, but perhaps it could help you feel a bit less betrayed.
Visiting some old familiar places during the rest of the questline would, I think, have been more of a happy nostalgic thrill if I hadn’t been farming Karazhan to death-by-boredom with one character or another for most of Warlords***. Ulduar, too, albeit not quite so much and not quite for so long. I was definitely amused by the mechagnome caretakers in Ulduar, though! I was tickled to see a feminine mechagnome, and if you haven’t explored around the place, you should!
I enjoyed the lore reveals and the introduction to another piece of the Legion plot. Also loving that Azeroth is a she 😀
I will do this questline with my Druid and with my Paladin, to complete the set of different quest reward armor types. I’ll probably do it with my Blood Elf Mage, too. I’m not going to try to do it with all my characters, though. I’m discovering that by the time I’m going through the same content with the seventh or eighth alt in rapid succession, I’m just so tired of it that it has become a chore. (Note to self: Don’t try to do everything all at once during Legion. Leave some space between doing Artifact/Order Hall/leveling with one alt and doing it with the next.)
*Not interested in the Blood Artifact, thanks, but I might want to make a Transmogrification kit that uses a 2H weapon.
**Maybe I could play through that questline again with the Warlock or the Rogue, though. And I still need to play the Alliance side of that questline with my Human Mage…
***Nevertheless, I’m going to want to play through the Karazhan dungeon in Patch 7.1, and if it’s a Mythic-only dungeon, as it seems it might be, I’m going to have to beg you folks, my good blog friends, to help me do it.
