Sunday on the Promenade 7: Hallow’s End Edition

October 23, 2016 by kamaliaetalia

Because I tend to spend Sunday afternoon and evening doing Transmogrification photo shoots, picture processing, and posting to character outfit pages, I might as well make a general post the same day of any outfits that aren’t part of some themed Transmogrification collection that I’m working on.

Steampunk Demon Hunter

Fel-Proof Goggles, Powderburned Spaulders, Unrendable Wolfhide Robes, Conductor’s Multi-Pocket Girdle, Mennu’s Scaled Leggings, Ranger Gloves* + Pit Lord’s Cuffs, Boots of Captain Ellis, Peacekeeper Blade
This outfit concept is one of the reasons why I farmed up the Peacekeeper Blade — once I’d had the idea, it had to be done.
As I was looking through my collection for some suitable gloves for this kit, I decided to look at hand-gloves and bracers. I hadn’t taken a close look at these bracers from the DH starting zone before, so I was delighted to discover how nicely they work with Demon Hunter tattoos.

Tidal Turbines

Ley Dragoon’s set with Neckbreaker Shoulderguards and Earthgrasp Girdle
I liked the way these Highmaul/Blackrock Foundry Shaman tier lookalike items coordinated with this Broken Isles set.

It’s funny — Halloween is one of my least favorite holidays in the real world, but I love dressing my characters up for Hallow’s End in-game.

Demonic Laughter

The Horseman’s Horrific Hood, Pauldrons of Violent Eruption (LFR), Warrior’s Embrace, Refreshing Abalone Girdle (LFR), Direwing Legguards, Gauntlets of Steadfast Determination, Boots of Boundless Patience, Marshwater Mantle, Lava Spine (N), Maimgor’s Bite
Kregga is happy that now she can leave her Garrison permanently decorated with glowing carved pumpkins!
This kit is a variation of the “Fel Desecration” kit that I originally created for my Paladin for my “Fel Camouflage” collection. I couldn’t decide whether I liked the sword or the axe better, so I used them both! I eventually plan to make a kit that uses double Lava Spines and another that uses double Maimgor’s Bites with my Demon Hunter, though.

Fel Reaver

Fel Iron Plate set with The Horseman’s Horrific Hood/Demonbreaker Helm, Pauldrons of the Wardancer, Grey Woolen Shirt, and Greataxe of Trials
I would run, too, if this was stomping my way.

Evil Pumpkin King III

The Horseman’s Horrific Hood, Uncrushable Shoulderplates, Embossed Plate Armor, Crimson Girdle of the Indomitable, Greaves of Orsis, Grips of the Raging Giant (N), Crazed Bomber’s Greaves, Cloak of Raining Blades (LFR), Fel Barbed Spear
Although the blue and white coloration is the primary reason for the Underpowered Death Knight’s existence, it’s fun to make outfits that play with the green coloration, too.

Evil Pumpkin King IV

The Horseman’s Horrific Hood, Acid-Etched Pauldrons, Carapace of the Fallen, Truesteel Waistguard (1-640), Purifier’s Pantaloons, Gauntlets of Steadfast Determination, Boots of Avoidance, Teebu’s Blazing Longsword, Drillborer Disk
Initially, Karaelia wasn’t quite sure if she wanted to join the rest of my plate-wearing characters in the Horseman’s Helm dress-up game. The outfit she was already wearing had quite a bit of green in it, though, and once she started tinkering with it, she got into the spirit.

Pumpkin Slicer

Jewel of the Firelord, Forest Wind Shoulderpads, Pridelord Armor, Imposing Belt, Warchief Kilt*, Pirate Sinker’s Gloves + Bracer of Portals, Malik’s Stalwart Spear
Hallow’s End is a perfect occasion to put to use those bright orange amber-bladed weapons from the Klaxxi.

Pumpkin Carver

Bonechewer Skincloak, Relentless Gladiator’s Leather Spaulders, Hardened Tongue Tunic, Ruffian Belt, Scouting Trousers, Bandit Gloves, Rapscallion Boots, Blade of the Prime, Electrowing Dagger (N)
Many of the Wrath PvP shoulder designs are quite nice. Fortunately for the PvP-averse, such as myself, the various currency redesigns that have occurred in the patches and expansions since then have resulted in those items now being available for gold.
Although the Combat Rogue Artifact weapon is a pair of swords, Kelisanna has not yet been to the Broken Isles, and her best weapon is still a dagger. I’ve put her dagger in her off-hand for this kit, though, because the Blade of the Prime is such a big honking Final Fantasy-esque weapon that having it in her off hand, with the smaller dagger in her main hand, seemed terribly improperly balanced.

The rest of these outfits are iterations upon some Hallow’s End kits that I originally designed about four years ago. Hurrah for the account-wide Appearances feature; it’s what’s allowing me to finally catch up on actually using these mog ideas in-game!

Classic Wicked Witch

Wicked Witch’s Hat, Regal Mantle, Black Mageweave Robe, Nesingwary’s Sash, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Footfalls of Memories, Crystalfire Staff
I can’t claim any sort of originality or creativity for this kit because it’s what the NPC witches are all wearing. This outfit will never be out of style for Hallow’s End.
Once I’d put the outfit together, then I had go do the Eastern Kingdoms & Kalimdor candy bucket tour to get a broom for the screenshots. I say this every year — I really wish the devs would just make the Magic Broom a permanent mount that can only be summoned during Hallow’s End. It would have to be easier to obtain than the Headless Horseman’s horse, though…

Fancy Wicked Witch

Hat of the Youngest Sister, Hatefury Mantle, Imbued Netherweave Tunic, Vicious Fireweave Belt, Leggings of the Icy Heart, Handguards of Defiled Worlds, Saltarello Shoes, Cloak of Concentrated Hatred, The Horseman’s Sinister Slicer, Ephial’s Grimoire
Black, orange, green, and purple — this kit has all the Halloween colors in it!
It seems like an oversight that the cosmetic hats that drop from the “Under the Crooked Tree” Hallow’s End boss in the Broken Isles are not transmogrifiable, nor added to the Appearances collection. According to the comments on Wowhead, apparently it’s not, more’s the pity. I’m going to wear that hat with this outfit anyway, despite the loss of stats that doing so incurs.

Bonfire Watcher

Circle of Flame, Balespider’s Mantle (N), Watcher’s Tunic, Clutch of Andros*, Legwraps of the Master Conjuror, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Landfall Silk Treads, Crystalfire Spellstaff (3-660)
The colors of this tunic, which has the same style as the top half of the Venomshroud Silk Robes, are just perfect for a Hallow’s End outfit!
There is no lookalike item for these Warlock tier shoulders, but this outfit would also look great with the shoulder slot hidden. The Black Belt of Knowledge is a good belt alternative. These boots are from the Horde version of the first part of the Jade Forest questline; the equivalent item from the Alliance version is purple & blue. If you’ve done the Jade Forest with both Horde and Alliance characters, though, you’ll have access to both versions of the boots in your Appearance collection! Otherwise, try the plain, dark Saltarello Shoes.

Hallows Chamberlain

Duskhallow Mantle, Consortium Combatant’s Robes, Black Belt of Knowledge, Silver-Thread Gloves, Starrgo’s Walking Stick
It’s really only the orange and black color combination that makes this outfit sort of Hallow’s End-ish. This robe style also comes in red, green, blue, and purple (I wish that it came in yellow and pink, too!), and these accessories (except the staff) would look just as good with any of the other colors.

Bad Juju

Big Voodoo Mask, Ravenwing Pauldrons, Flamestrider Robes, Felshroud Belt, Ironpelt Leggings, Botanist’s Gloves of Growth, Orange Martial Shirt, Kyparitic Staff
This kit is also Hallow’s End-ish mostly by virtue of its orange-black-and-green color scheme. A partially similar outfit could be made in cloth with the Silksand Wraps and Bad Mojo Mask.

Balrog Stalker

Crown of Destruction, Replica Beastmaster’s Mantle, Ebonhold Armor, Warmonger’s Belt, Bloodmail Legguards*, Engraved gloves & boots, Orange Martial Shirt, Lava Bolt Crossbow
Ketura doesn’t use crossbows very often, but this one just seemed like the right weapon for this kit.
The Mithril Scale Pants are a good alternate choice of leggings to go with this chestpiece.

Everybody got new clothes this time! Which means that next time, probably everyone except Kam and Kira will get new clothes, because I’ll want to change them out of their holiday costumes 😛

If any of you, my dear readers, have kits that you’d like to share, I’d be happy to add you to the show! Just email me your picture(s), along with a list of the items in the outfit. I don’t regularly check my blog email, though, so if you’ve sent me an outfit, please make a comment on the most recent Sunday Mog Show post so that I know to check my blog email for your contribution.
