This series of posts began because I set myself a goal to document new Transmogrification outfits in a more timely fashion. As soon as I create a new outfit, I write it up in a draft post. As the weekend approaches, I start working on taking fashion screenshots, processing them, and updating “Things my [Class] Wears” posts. On Sunday — though not every Sunday — I publish the collection of my recent efforts. Then I begin the next “Sunday on the Promenade” draft post.
Occasionally, I have ideas for themed Transmogrification collections that take several months to completely assemble. Thus, some of these outfits might get re-posted at a later date as part of such a themed Transmogrification collection.
Farseer’s Harness & Gauntlets, Chain of the Demon Hunter, Infection Resistant Legguards, Geomancer’s Mace, Twilight Mirrorshield, Highmountain War Harness, Tabard of the Highmountain Tribe
For the final outfit in my set of kits themed around the Highmountain war harnesses, I wanted to try to mimic the Highmountain Spiritwalkers. Alas, this idea immediately ran into trouble — the NPCs are wearing a leather helmet, the axe model the NPCs use is not available to players, and shields cannot be Transmogrified into off-hand frill items such as the Steamscar Vessel carried by the NPCs. The weapons I chose instead are those carried by the Highmountain Protectors. The NPC leggings are a kilt version of the Farseer’s leggings; I felt like this T6 recolor item was the best approximation — and it looks great with the tabard!
Guise of the Tidal Lurker, Hateful Gladiator’s Wyrmhide Spaulders, Shroud of Nature’s Harmony, Orgrimmar Belt, Giant-Friend Kilt, Thunderlord Gloves, Stolen Idra’kess Drape, Green Workman’s Shirt, Thunder Eagle Staff
The core concept of this kit — hat, shoulders, chestpiece, kilt — is borrowed from an outfit that Navimie wore for a very long time which I always admired.
It’s been awhile, so I’ve made new outfits for several more characters. I’m putting them behind a cut to save loading time; if you want to see them, click through to read more.
Wyrmfury Pauldrons, Fel Iron Chain Tunic, Belt of the Gladiator, Turtle Scale Leggings, Green Dragonscale Gauntlets, Boots of the Pathfinder
It seemed natural to progress from a kit using the Dragonstalker pauldrons to this BC dungeons recolor. After playing around with various combinations of green and red, I decided that I liked the outfit best with the maroon color just popping from the pauldrons and the feathers on this tint of Talonclaw.
Meeting of the Clans
Pauldrons of Morbidus, Durotan’s Battle Harness, Salt-Scorched Girdle, Crystal-Studded Legguards, Grash’s Fireproof Handguards, Greaves of the Traitor, Chainlink Towel, Gorehowl
The notion of making a kit using both the Warsong heirloom Gorehowl and the Frostwolf heirloom Durotan’s Battle Harness amused me. Hence, another attempt at making an Orc-like outfit to use with Gorehowl.
The chestpiece has a patch of lime-green accent color between the shoulderblades on the back. I found that quite distracting; fortunately, the very short Chainlink Towel cloak was just perfect to cover it up while still being coherent with the rest of the kit.
Demon Warding Halo, Mantle of the Unknowing, Royal Apothecary Robe, Belt of the Night Sky, Cobalt-Threaded Gloves + Wristwraps of the Grieving Prophet, Communal Stave
And it’s back to the shadowy version of the Communal staff because in the process of making Kaohana’s previous kit, it occurred to me that these Ulduar Priest Tier recolor shoulders would coordinate very nicely with it. Then I liked how these Azsuna quest set items looked with the shoulders and staff.
Kirin Tor Frost Mage
Iceshear Mantle, Raiments of the Corrupted, Wraps of the Persecuted, Slippers of Serenity, Tower of the Mouldering Corpse
Although Magister Serena’s robe has full-length sleeves, the robe that drops only has elbow-length sleeves. A blue recolor of the Ulduar Mage Tier gloves exists, but I don’t have it yet; these Naxx gloves coordinate well enough.
Wizardweave Turban, Resplendent Epaulets, Robe of Doan*, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Sorcerer Slippers, Stylish Black Shirt, Netherlord’s Staff of Summoning
This unfortunately no longer available robe is the classic look of the Warlock trainers lurking in the basement of the Slaughtered Lamb in Stormwind.
Omen of the Dark Hour
Blighthound Master’s Hood, Shoulderpads of the Forgotten Gate (N), Tunic of the Dark Hour, Refurbished Demolisher Gear Belt, Warpscale Leggings, Ironpelt Mitts, Ghost Walker Treads, Cobra Shortblade
The combination of medium and dark blues and maroons shading to browns in this chestpiece and pants really appealed to me.
I wanted to do a daggers kit for a change, so I set up Kelisanna’s Subtlety spec. Subtlety was her specialization of choice right up until the announcement that Combat would be reworked & renamed into Outlaw; the idea of being a spy or a sneaky thief who only kills when necessary & unavoidable appeals to me more than being an outright Assassin does.
Underdweller’s Spaulders (N), Supreme Breastplate, Dusky Belt, Scouting Trousers, Alpha Seal Handwraps + Scouting Bracers, Rapscallion Boots, Warglaive of the Fel Hammer
Surely I’m not the only person who sees this blindfold style and immediately thinks “Batman”?
This is definitely the most spectacular pose in which the Maiev-vs-Illidan plot stun has ever caught me; I couldn’t replicate it if I tried.
If any of you, my dear readers, have kits that you’d like to share, I’d be happy to add you to the show! Just email me your picture(s), along with a list of the items in the outfit. I don’t regularly check my blog email, though, so if you’ve sent me an outfit, please make a comment on the most recent Sunday Mog Show post so that I know to check my blog email for your contribution.
