A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Tauren Hunters. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).
40) Auchenai Tracker
Furious Gladiator’s Chain Spaulders, Auchenai Tracker’s Hauberk, Unyielding Waistband, Legguards of Sleeting Arrows, Savage Gladiator’s Chain Gauntlets, Boots of the Pathfinder
Although I’ve been wanting to make a kit with this chestpiece for some time, when I actually started to work on it, the rather unique color proved to be a bit of a challenge. This is actually the second iteration of this kit; I’ll reuse parts of the first iteration for another kit some other day.
39) Trailseeker
The Trailseeker set is the gear that a Hunter is shown wearing on the new character selection screen. It is obtained in-game from the Warlords Garrison Salvage Yard.
It didn’t seem quite right to claim Thas’dorah as a Tauren; that bow rightfully belongs to the children of the Sunwell. So I used the Orb of the Sin’dorei before I picked it up.
38) Rangaari Morningscale
Safari Hat, Morningscale shoulders chest & pants, Industrial Lifting Belt, Wastewalker’s Gauntlets*, Sabatons of the Flamewalker, Incised Gun
The Morningscale set is the other green and brown toned Warlords mail set that I think is great for a Ranger-type outfit. It is obtained by running Warlords Heroic dungeons.
I know Kamalia got the hat for the blue-gray coloration of this set, but I didn’t save it after she got an upgrade because I thought it looked rather silly on Tauren (most hoods do, to my eye).
The folded-down hood does look pretty awesome on other races, though!
Legion has an iteration on this hood style that I do think looks okay on Tauren.
37) Rangaari Ravenchain
Ravenchain set with Safari Hat and Taut Driftwood Bow
Warlords produced a couple of rather nice green and brown toned mail sets that are just perfect for a Ranger. This particular set is obtained by questing through Spires of Arak.
36) Balrog Stalker
Crown of Destruction, Replica Beastmaster’s Mantle, Ebonhold Armor, Warmonger’s Belt, Bloodmail Legguards*, Engraved gloves & boots, Orange Martial Shirt, Lava Bolt Crossbow
Ketura doesn’t use crossbows very often, but this one just seemed like the right weapon for this kit.
The Mithril Scale Pants are a good alternate choice of leggings to go with this chestpiece.
35) Black Arrow II
Fel-Chain set with Fel-Proof Goggles, Veteran’s Ringmail Girdle, and Black Bow of the Betrayer
The mail Demon Invasions set, with a few pieces swapped out for items I like better.
34) Bronze, Brass, and Steel
Blast-Proof Cowl, Ordon Legend-Keeper Spaulders, Bulging Chain Vest, Earthgrasp Girdle, Battle Scarred Leggings, Grips of Rekindling, Railwalker’s Ratcheted Boots, Bronze Blaster
This kit, with its grey metal tones and textures in the torso and brown leather tones and textures elsewhere, originated from wanting to use this bright shiny gold-leaf gilded helmet with this bright orange-yellow chestpiece that I thought might be part of the same set, but apparently isn’t. I hadn’t been paying close enough attention to the types of Mission chests they came out of — the hat is from the Highmaul/Blackrock Foundry Shaman tier-lookalike set, whereas the chestpiece is from the Hellfire Citadel LFR mail set. The belt, gloves, and boots, however, are from the same set as the hat.
33) Blackrock Sniper
Helm of Affinity, Wayfaring Shoulderguards & Leggings (3-670), Deathweb Vest, Bloodspattered Sash, Trapper Gloves, Sunspring Greaves, Master Builder’s Shirt, Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle
I was quite tempted, for a bit, to combine the 3-670 Wayfaring Leggings with the Felstalker Breastplate and Drakesfire Epaulets and pay homage to the Godmother’s Shado-Pan Helmet kit.
Instead, I originally designed this set with the Beast Lord Mantle. Later, I decided that I wanted to use all three colors of the Wayfaring Shoulderguards, after all.
Savage Blood required: 60
32) Wayfaring Pilgrim
Helm of Pilgrimage, Wayfaring Shoulderguards & Leggings (2-655), Quivering Tunic, Ornate Girdle, Starfish Gauntlets, Titan-Forged Sabatons of Triumph, Shrediron’s Shredder (1-630), Stylish Blue Shirt
I love the combination of blue and gold, so even though I’m nominally Horde, sometimes I make kits that would be just awesome for an Alliance character.
This kit didn’t quite seem complete without the shirt.
I like the design of this gun a lot, so it will likely become my go-to mogging item for when I want a sleek, light-colored gun in the same way that the Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle is my go-to mogging item for when I want a powerful, dark-colored gun.
Savage Blood required: 30
31) Black Arrow
Fel-Proof Goggles, Wayfaring Shoulderguards (1-640), Ebonhold Armor Gauntlets & Boots, Lifecycle Waistguard (N), Bloodmail Legguards*, Green Martial Shirt, Shroud of the Final Stand, Black Bow of the Betrayer
Although I’ve seen kits with these shoulders that went all-out green, I wanted to reflect the Burning Legion aesthetic of fel green as an accent color against black.
If you don’t have the Bloodmail Legguards, then you’ll probably want the Ebonhold pants, too.
