This semester is still keeping me exhaustingly busy, though that’s not why I was so quiet for the first half of October. At General Conference at the beginning of October, President Nelson challenged the women of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to take a 10-day fast from social media.
I’m kind of a social media hermit. Although I have a Facebook account, I haven’t logged into it for so long that I’ll probably have to jump through all sorts of ridiculous identity verification hoops the next time I do try to log in. I made a deliberate decision when Twitter debuted to not do it — I didn’t need another digital distraction in my life — and I have avoided other forms of social media — Snapchat, Pinterest, Instagram, etc — for the same reason. So this blog is pretty much the only social media thing I do — and I debated with myself for a bit if it even counted as the sort of social media President Nelson was talking about. But we indoctrinate our kids to “follow the prophet” — and have a rather earwormy children’s song with that phrase as the title and chorus — so I figured I’d better walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. So I took some time off from the blog. I also abstained from reading Blizzard Watch and Wowhead during those two weeks.
Unsurprisingly, I found that I was more focused and got more done at work when I wasn’t checking my blog Reader and Blizzard Watch and Wowhead for updates all the time — so I’ve continued to avoid doing that while I’m on campus.
Anyhow, It’s Hallow’s End, so let’s start off with my Death Knights’ traditional holiday shenanigans before showing off all the other new outfits I’ve accumulated over the past few weeks.
Unholy Rooksguard
Rooksguard Armor with The Horseman’s Horrific Hood, Veteran’s Scaled Belt, and Unholy Ebon Warsword
I initially thought the nubbly texture of the Legion plate leveling sets was kind of neat — until I looked closely, and then it became entirely too creepy. This coloration, which is obtained in Val’sharah, is perfect for a DK during Hallow’s End, though!
Pumpkin Head, Kraken Heart or Evil Pumpkin King VI
Hallowed Helm, Crystalvein Pauldrons, Krakken-Heart Breastplate, Veteran’s Scaled Belt, Greaves of the Bloodwarder, Royal Gauntlets of Silvermoon, Kraken Greaves, Yal’s Leafwrap Cloak, Blades of the Fallen Prince (upgraded, third tint)
I wasn’t quite sure what weapons I was going to use for a Hallow’s End kit this year — and then when I looked at the “Legion Artifacts” options, it was instantaneously obvious that these flaming blades were exactly the weapons I needed.
Blue Dragon Princess
Recruit’s Robe*, everything else hidden (or taken off), Dragonscale-Encrusted Longblade
This RP-clothes outfit mimics the appearance of Stellagosa. The dress is the level 1 Draenei Mage robe; Kaelinda brought it home from her faction-change adventure just before Cataclysm. Sadly, that trick can no longer be done, because Mists made the level 1 starter clothes soulbound. The Astralaan Robe is the same style, though in white and purple instead of blue and purple, and the Anchorite’s Robes from the Aldor is similar colors, though a different Draenei style.
Shu’halo Raincaller
Mystical Pauldrons of Elements, Stormbreaker Chestguard, Warmongering Gladiator’s Waistguard of Victory, Infection Resistant Legguards, Praetorian’s Tidecallers, Black Swashbuckler’s Shirt, Sharas’dal (PvP, default tint)
This Tauren totem-themed appearance of the Restoration Artifact is one of my favorites, but I never expected to get it because it required PvP.
I collected Marks of Honor with the insta-WQ perk that about half of the classes had, though, and whenever the Bareback Brawl PvP World Quest rewarded Marks of Honor, I’d go do it. Apparently all of that accumulated enough Honor for my account to qualify for the PvP appearances of my Artifacts when the Battle for Azeroth PvP changes rolled out in Patch 8.0.
Bronze Val’kyr
Shoulderplates & Treads of the Chosen Dead, Bloodfist Breastplate & Legplates, Gleaming Celestial Waistguard, Fists of Thane Kray-Tan, Lotrafen, Blazing Wings
A half-baked attempt to look like a Val’kyr. I initially thought to use the Glorious Breastplate, but when I tried that, I just couldn’t get the rest of the kit to work out at all. This chestpiece has a slightly better shape match to the Val’kyr metal bustier, anyway.
The effect is a little better on one of the more human-like races.
And yes, I put my Demon Hunter through the effort of getting this toy from the Darkmoon Faire many moons ago specifically for the purpose of using it in this kit.
Silver Hand Templar
Truesteel Battleplate (stage 3) with Windfire Legplates (LFR), Vicious Fur Cloak, Tabard of the Lightbringer, and Gilded Warhammer
The pants the NPCs are wearing are more like a pants version of the robe skirt from the Siege of Orgrimmar set than the actual pants of that set.
Carmine Dashing Scoundrel
Fierce Gladiator’s Leather Armor with The Dreadblades (upgraded, default tint)
This set has so many fabulous little details — and the hat was a Must Have!
Occultist of the Green Flame
Bloodstained Surgeon’s Shoulderguards, Robe of the Thousand Needles, Cord of the Patronizing Practicioner, Nemesis Gloves, Apprentice Boots, Shimmershell Cape, Scepter of Sargeras (default, original tint)
Those pathetic Cult of the Green Flame idiots have decent fashion sense, at least. I discovered the handsome combination of these ICC Priest tier lookalike items and the tunic version of this robe myself several years ago — but it’s taken seeing it in-game on these NPCs for me to finally get around to wearing it.
Void Researcher
Replica Sorcerer’s Robes Belt & Boots with Buoyant Shoulderpads, Gandling’s Gloves, and Staff of Haunted Memory
These shoulders from a leveling set introduced in Cataclysm are just perfect with the Sorcerer’s Robes.
Cold is the Void
Replica Deathmist Mantle Robe & Bracers with Replica Virtuous Belt, Royal Gloves, Conspirator’s Slippers, and Frostscythe of Lord Ahune
Blue Warlock clothes for a chilly Alliance Warlock.
In the Shadows of the Shadows
Replica Darkmantle Armor with Wicked Leather Headband and Vibro Knife
I’d thought about getting this set for my Demon Hunter — and indeed I have seen it on other Demon Hunters — but it wasn’t until I made a Void Elf Rogue that I had to have it to Mog over her heirlooms.
Kyrieana is a double agent — though she now appears to be working for the Alliance, her true loyalty remains with Silvermoon. On assignment from the Regent-Lord’s intelligence corps, she infiltrated Magister Umbric’s group. Her reports contributed to Regent-Lord Theron’s judgment that their research into the Void was too dangerous. She remained with the group after they were banished from Silvermoon to continue monitoring their activites; thus, she found herself trapped with all the others when the Incident occurred at the Telogrus Rift. When Alleria at last allowed her to leave Telogrus, Kyrieana made her way to the Ghostlands as quickly as she could and pledged renewed loyalty to Silvermoon, and her intention to keep reporting the activities of the ren’dorei to the Regent Lord, to Halduron Brightwing.

This series of posts began because I set myself a goal to document new Transmogrification outfits in a more timely fashion. As soon as I create a new outfit, I write it up in a draft post. As the weekend approaches, I start working on taking fashion screenshots, processing them, and updating “Things my [Class] Wears” posts. On Sunday — though not every Sunday — I publish the collection of my recent efforts. Then I begin the next “Sunday on the Promenade” draft post.
Occasionally, I have ideas for themed Transmogrification collections that take several months to completely assemble. Thus, some of these outfits might get re-posted at a later date as part of such a themed Transmogrification collection.
If any of you, my dear readers, have kits that you’d like to share, I’d be happy to add you to the show! Just email me your picture(s), along with a list of the items in the outfit. I don’t regularly check my blog email, though, so if you’ve sent me an outfit, please make a comment on the most recent Sunday Mog Show post so that I know to check my blog email for your contribution.
Blue Dragon Princess — with a title like that you had me at hello!
Beautiful work, simply beautiful.
😀
These are fantastic, Kam, glad to see you back.
The Carmine Dashing Scoundrel is amazing!!! (I rarely use more than one “!” 😛 )
I miss Legion.
A part of me thinks the Void Elves should belong to the Horde. With the right transmog, I am sure I could make one look almost identical to Sylvanas.
Sometimes the Blizz set designers make a set that’s just magnificent as-is — and the Antorus Rogue set (of which this is the PvP recolor) is one of those sets!
I’m not out of Legion yet, so I guess I can’t miss it just yet 😛
The Void Elves are in kind of a wierd space with their looks and their allegiance and the story that explains both. It would, I think, be possible to make a very similar appearance to Sylvanas — which can’t be comfortable for folks in the Alliance.
