On Monday, I got through enough of Nazjatar for the 8.2 War Campaign to unlock. So today I went and did it, and then I did the Tauren Heritage Armor scenario.
They were awesome — very much worth the effort of pushing to get to them! The kids are waking up, so I’ll have to be brief — and although I won’t be talking much about the overall story, some of the details I mention might be considered spoilery if you haven’t done it yet, so I’ll put the rest behind a cut tag.
I really appreciated all of the callbacks to events of previous expansions and stories in the Saving Baine scenario. I’m a bit surprised, though, that I haven’t seen a comment on the similarity between the meeting of Jaina & Shaw and Thrall & Saurfang in the Underhold to the meeting of Jaina & Varian and Thrall & Vol’jin in Undercity in the post-Wrathgate Undercity scenario. Although I loved the cinematic conversation between Jaina and Thrall, my favorite bit was actually in the conversation between Lor’themar and Thalyssra that occurs after you return to Nazjatar:
About time someone remembered that!
Between the Highmountain Tauren recruitment scenario and the Tauren Heritage Armor scenario, Thunder Bluff has come under attack from supernatural forces of darkness twice in recent months…
I was intrigued to see the same new Dementor-like death creature models in the Tauren Heritage Armor scenario as appeared in the Vol’jin questline. More fuel for the speculation that 9.0 will be a Shadowlands/Death-themed expansion…
And bravo for showing us not just Cairne, but also Baine’s mother!
I wish you’ve added up a full-scale spoiler story about the Tauren armor questline 🙂 Not many of us bloggers have high level Tauren if any at all, so that would be much appreciated!
P.S. Where does the bottom picture come from? By mogu pattern on the floor I presume it’s Pandaria, but I don’t remember this episode even if I did all quests on both sides.
It’s the terrace in front of the entrance to Throne of Thunder. This scene is the ending of the last of the 5 opening scenarios for the Isle of Thunder.
I’ll do that then! Not right away, because RL is going to be a little crazy for the next week or so, but I’ll try to get one up sometime in the next couple of weeks. 🙂
