My Alliance Mage had finished up the Necrolords Campaign and purchased the last item on my (rather short) Necrolords Renown Vendor shopping list, so it was time to get my Horde Mage going on the Kyrian Campaign. I dressed her up in a suitable kit — and then Children’s Week came along. I’ve ignored that Holiday for several years — I didn’t even go do the new Zandalari and Kul Tiran orphan quests in Battle for Azeroth — but this year, with previews from the PTR indicating that Salandria’s story will be continued in Patch 9.2.5, I felt like I ought to revisit it.
Pure Moods
Cassandra’s Grace, Vicious Embersilk Shoulders, Drape of Twisted Loyalties, Aspiring Aspirant’s Robes, Gloves of Unfailing Faith, Belt of Divine Inspiration, Master’s Boots, Giorgio’s Caduceus of Pure Moods (LFR)
Between the golden feathers, the ball that is almost the same color as Bastion Anima, and the RP quality of the name, this staff was just what this outfit needed.
Sin’dorei Schism
Cowl of the Grand Engineer, Mantle of the Elven Kings, Royal Cloak of the Sunstriders, Vestments of the Sea-Witch, Gauntlets of the Sun King, Veteran’s Silk Belt, Infernoweave Boots, Crystalheart Pulse-Staff
With previews from the PTR indicating that Salandria will be a featured character in a Patch 9.2.5 storyline, I felt like Kaelinda ought to go revisit Salandria’s Children’s Week story. So with a retro look to match the retro timeframe of the event, off she went. Apparently, I hadn’t actually ever done Children’s Week with Kaelinda before, because she got the “Aw, Isn’t It Cute?” Achievement when she turned in the quest to return Salandria to the orphanage. So I’m very glad that I did it now!
This set is a recolor of the Serpentshrine Cavern/Tempest Keep Mage Tier set; I think its colors look more Blood-Elfy than the actual Tier set, and the item names are certainly very Blood-Elfy — hence the name I gave the outfit.
Fangs in the Shadow Keep
Sinfall Venthyr Hood, Sinful Inquisitor’s Mantle, Shroud of the Penitent, Robes of Arugal, Soulbreaker’s Ebony Handwraps, Sinful Inquisitor’s Sash, Master’s Boots, Void-Warped Oshu’gun Staff
I wanted to try this belt with this robe, so here we are.
Combat Meditation
Aspiring Aspirant’s Hood, Eternal Traveler’s Spaulders, Purifier’s Silken Cape, Cruel Executioner’s Chestplate, Intimidating Initiate’s Crushers, Eternal Traveler’s Waistwrap, Cruel Executioner’s Legguards, Kul’Tiras Dress Sabatons, Blade of the Silver Hand, Kudebeh’s Remarkable Targe
Although the bronze was fun for a bit of a change, in general Karaelia likes gold better.
Maldraxxus has the environment I prefer the least, but its leveling and World quest reward sets have the colorations I prefer most! I almost wonder if the black and charcoal colorations of the Bastion sets were really intended for Maldraxxus, and the golden and navy blue colorations of the Maldraxxus sets were really intended for Bastion.

This series of posts began because I set myself a goal to document new Transmogrification outfits in a more timely fashion. As soon as I create a new outfit, I write it up in a draft post. As the weekend approaches, I start working on taking fashion screenshots, processing them, and updating “Things my [Class] Wears” posts. On Sunday — though not every Sunday — I publish the collection of my recent efforts. Then I begin the next “Sunday on the Promenade” draft post.
Occasionally, I have ideas for themed Transmogrification collections that take several months to completely assemble. Thus, some of these outfits might get re-posted at a later date as part of such a themed Transmogrification collection.
Apparently blood elves’ heads shrink as they reach adulthood. Who knew?
But I will say that I spent part of Saturday watching the Kentucky Derby –okay, mostly the lead up to the Derby– and I can totally see a Warcraft version of that lead up featuring your Promenade-like costuming.
And… sigh, I know exactly the T5 Mage set Kaelinda is wearing. And yes, I’m totally jealous.
LOL
As always, I didn’t *actually* have that set at the time — I think it was sometime during Cataclysm before I even got Kaelinda fully leveled — and I farmed the set during Mists or Warlords — and the gloves I got just this week when I discovered that I didn’t have them yet…
I know exactly how much fun getting the T5 set would have been. Not from Kael’Thas, because he was pretty straightforward soloing in Mists, but Vashj. Soloing Vashj is a royal pita because of those corrupt elementals.
