As so often happens, I discovered this combination of shoulders and robe while iterating out an outfit concept for which this wasn’t quite what I had in mind, but I liked it enough to jot it down in my Notebook of Mog ideas for use sometime later when I wanted a new outfit and didn’t have any immediate inspiration.
Although the Witchmother Drape coordinates very nicely with this robe,
I liked seeing the design of the back of the robe itself better.
89) The Rarest Beauty

The Formal Dangui requires dedicated vendor camping to obtain, as it has an exceptionally long restock time and when it is available, there is only one. I acquired mine many years ago, with a Druid alt created to dwell in Moonglade specifically for that purpose.

I don’t like the shoulders from the Hellfire Citadel Mage Tier set at all, so I was happy to discover how nicely these Battle for Azeroth dungeon set shoulders complemented this coloration of the robe.

This is a kit where the Ren’dorei burgundy hair color does work beautifully.
This outfit started, like many of my outfits do, with a shoulders + robe combo and built from there. I appreciate how each expansion adds new colors to the Transmogrification palette, and I love discovering cross-expansion combinations.
The Drakewatcher’s Shoulderpads from Dragonflight also coordinate quite nicely with this robe.
86) Fireplume Embers

After I’d chosen this feathered hat, the ruby gloves and slippers were natural choices for the rest of the outfit. Their darker colors made me think of the glowing coals of a fire that has been burning for awhile.
Although the Ren’dorei burgundy is the closest hair color Eversong Elves have to pink or magenta, whenever I use it, it’s never as bright as I quite think it ought to be.

Kaelyla picked up these pants during her run of Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr during the Dragonflight pre-launch events. It occurred to me to try them with the Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater.
With Kaelyla’s void-tinged skin tone, it wasn’t immediately obvious that her legs were covered all the way down to the tops of her boots, so here she is with her natural skin tone.

Apparently, and surely much to the disappointment of some, the appearance of the Cloudburst Robes as a tunic version of the Dragonflight Cloth questing gear during the 10.0 pre-patch was unintended, as about a week after the launch of the expansion itself, it changed appearances to a robe.

With the lore segue phase of Patch 10.0 set to begin this week, I decided to bring Kaelyla home from the Shadowlands. She will experience the Alliance RP for and collect Cloth Cosmetics from the Dragonflight pre-patch events.
She will, with Kamalia, be one of my first toons to embark for the Dragon Isles. For the occasion, it seemed appropriate to make an “Alliance Blue” ensemble using mostly Shadowlands items.

Modified version of an outfit I originally designed three years ago for Kalaneia (see Warlock #56).
Serendipitously also works surprisingly well as a Sinfall Venthyr kit.
This sash is Alliance-only; for Horde characters, the Normal version of Aqu’sirr’s Swirling Sash works almost as nicely.
