A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Void Elf Mage. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).
100) Lady in Red II/Lady In Blue
Red: Wanderer’s Snowy Scarf, Ferocious Gladiator’s Silk Amice (H), Wanderer’s Snowy Cloak, Lovely Red Dress, Fine White Evening Gloves, Crazed Traveler’s Legwraps, Warm Red Woolen Socks, Vengeful Gladiator’s Battle Staff
Blue: Wanderer’s Snowy Scarf, Ferocious Gladiator’s Silk Amice (A), Wanderer’s Snowy Cloak, Lovely Blue Dress, Fine White Evening Gloves, Cobalt Watcher’s Leggings, Sage’s Boots, Apostle of Argus
The red version is an iteration of the outfit in which Kaelydia first appeared (see Blood Elf Mage #59).
The white items from the Trading Post inspired me to revisit it — and also to make a blue version — both of which are also iterations on a similar oufit I recently made using the Lovely Black Dress (see Blood Elf Mage #163).
99) Channeled Flows
“Rhinestone” Sunglasses, Waveborne Diplomat’s Puffed Pauldrons/Ascended Squallspires (LFR), Waycrest Inquisitor’s Cloak, Compressed Cultist’s Frock (LFR), Gloves of Raging Tempests (Primal Empowered), Aqu’sirr’s Swirling Sash, Suspicious Slippers, Staff of Restraint
Although I made the version of this outfit with the Waveborne Diplomat’s Puffed Pauldrons first, like it better, and wore it longer, I also made the version of this outfit with the Ascended Squallspires so I can eventually put this outfit in a collection of All The Mage Tier Sets — because this chestpiece is actually from the Vault of Incarnates Priest set.
98) Embrace the Crazy
Oblivion Cultist’s Robes with Crazy Cap and Flamecaster Botefeux
The Ny’alotha raid set from Battle for Azeroth could be collected, in lookalike form, without ever setting foot in the raid by participating in the outdoor N’Zoth Assaults in Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Although this set is really rather a Nope for me, in the spirit of wearing each raid set that I’ve collected at least once, here it is. I still had to trade out the hat; this one has suitably coordinating colors and a very coordinating name.
97) Besties
Crown of Boundless Courage, Green Wedding Hanbok/Dark Green Wedding Hanbok, Kurkenstoks, Farmer’s Broom
Kaelinda and Kaelyla have been BFFs since their late adolescence, and though the expulsion of the followers of Magister Umbric from Silvermoon strained their relationship for awhile, they worked through it.
I would love to see Children’s Week expanded by allowing the adventurer to sponsor orphans of both genders at all of the participating orphanages.
96) Elune’s Bard
Moonpriest’s Vestments with Elune’s Wrath and Winterborn Harp
This was the combo that immediately came to mind when I thought of using Elune’s Wrath with a Mage.
It’d look fabulous on my Night Elf Mage, of course,
but the Shadowlands harp still requires level 48 to Mog, and the chances of Keriluna ever accomplishing that are slim at best. Update: I was able to dress Keriluna in this outfit when Patch 10.1 lowered the Mog requirement for Shadowlands items to level 10.
95) Dragon Isles Mauve
Drakewatcher’s Armor with Historical Perspective Shifters, Obsidian Cape, and Telmor Soupriest Staff
The mauve of this set goes so nicely with the mauve versions of the Venthyr gear.
94) Trial of Style: Crimson Creations
Red Pointy Hat, Devouring Pellicle Shoulderpads (M), Phoenix-Wing Cloak, Scarlet Sin’dorei Robes, Voidweave Cilice, Infernoweave Boots, Twisted Visage
I got this theme first, and then again a round or two later, and this outfit placed 3rd both times. I participated in Trial of Style a few more times to get enough Tokens for all the new goodies I wanted to acquire, and a couple of those times I even placed 1st — but the outfits I made for the themes of those rounds were just minimally modified ensembles or previously saved outfits, so I won’t share them here.
93) Sable Sorceress
Sabellian’s Battlegear Cloth Armor with Jewel of the Firelord and Shadow Wing Focus Staff
Kamalia’s efforts to gain friendship with Sabellian have succeeded enough to allow her Mage friends to acquire the Sabellian’s Battlegear set. Sadly, Baron Sablemane in Outland hasn’t been updated to Sabellian’s Dragonflight Visage form model. Being something of a Mog nerd, I recognized this ensemble (minus the unique shoulders, of course) as a recolor of the Elite Cataclysmic Gladiator’s Silk Armor worn by Archmage Karlain in Legion Dalaran.
See also Blood Elf Mage #165.
92) The Titans’ Fool
Darkmoon Harlequin’s Bells with Pink Party Hat, Cloak of the Darkmoon Faire, Aluneth (hidden, tint 1)/Staff of Dominance/Blade of Savagery + Omega Orb*/Depraved Ritualist’s Kris + Dreamseeker Dandelion/Groady Goblin Wand + Night Courtier’s Lyre/Torch of Austen + Mistyreed Torch
The Darkmoon Harlequin’s Bells were the ultimate reward for the March 2023 Trading Post.
As I don’t like masks in general, I’ve chosen the most utterly obvious — and fortunately also at least somewhat coordinating — alternate hat. If there was a version of the Fae Revel Masque in some kind of gold tone, it would be a brilliant choice to wear with the Harlequin’s Bells, but alas, the purplish-silver just doesn’t quite work.
I’ve shown here weapon suggestions for all the weapon types a Mage can use; there are of course other great options for each weapon type. I’ve also shown my favorite option for a staff that one not fortunate enough to be a Mage could use.
If you simply must wear the set hat, the Felsoul Staff complements the style and has Darkmoon Faire-appropriate colors.
91) Radiant Court Visage
Radiant Court Attire with Onyx Glare-Reducers, Redeemed Inquisitor’s Mantle, Rapier of the Fearless, Bouquet of Dried Flowers, Eternal Black Diamond Ring, Stylish Black Parasol
My preferred use for the Dark Ranger customization continues to be Venthyr cosplay. Of course, the Venthyr know all about Lookin’ Good.
I’d been wanting to use this armor set with this combo of weapon and off-hand for awhile, and the March 2023 Trading Post theme, “Looking Good”, was a perfect opportunity to use it.
