The Battle for Azeroth may be coming, but for now, we are still dealing with the Legion. I still have lots to do in the Broken Isles — and even more Transmogrification ideas. Hallow’s End is over, so everyone who got dressed up for the holiday needed to change their clothes. It had been long enough since I changed some of the others’ clothes that I was getting bored of what they’d been wearing. Once I’d changed everyone else, I did the last two or three just so they wouldn’t be left out.

Illidari Matron

Illidari Shoulders & Boots, Prospector’s Chestpiece, Waistclasp of Unethical Power (LFR), Gloomtalon’s Spare Kilt, Fuzzy Gloves + Flame Juggler’s Armbands, Blade of Savagery
Because of this sword, I wanted to do a “Shivarra Matron” outfit for my Demon Hunter. The NPC outfit is quite unique, however — only the sword and shoulders are available as drops for players, and the shoulders are plate — so my PC outfit is a series of approximations at best.
I’ve had this outfit planned for quite awhile, but I had to wait until she was level 110 to make it because of the belt.

Dalaran Watcher

Robes of Antiquity, High Councillor’s Sash, Zaetar’s Gloves, Replica Magister’s Boots, Helcular’s Other Rod, Kirin Tor Tabard
I tried some shoulders with this kit — I particularly liked the look of the Stiffened Corpse Shoulderpads — but in the end decided to leave them off.

Dalaran Nurse

Replica Devout Mantle, Noble’s Robe, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Communal Stave
This robe, now a drop from the Stockades, was once a reward from a low-level Blood Elf Priest class quest. The “Dalaran Nurse’s Gown” sold by Angelique Butler looks like this robe, but it is not Transmogrifiable.

Serendipitous Seraph

Warmongering Gladiator’s Mantle of Cruelty, Robes of the Guardian Saint, Astralaan Pants, Pyrotex Ignition Cloth + Cuffs of Unrelenting Anguish, Ringo’s Blizzard Boots
I’d made outfits for Kaelinda with the other three colors of this robe style, but I hadn’t used this color yet because I wanted to use The Stars’ Design, the Hidden appearance for Felo’melorn, with it. I’d been hoping that it would just drop for me in the course of ordinary Suramar zone and World questing, without having to “go back” to farm for it after I’d completed the zone storyline (including the 7.1 Insurrection story) — and lo and behold, it dropped.

Maleficent

Fel-Infused Helm, Hatefury Mantle, Robes of Necrotic Whispers, Enumerated Handwraps, Saltarello Shoes, Iceward Cloak
It struck me that this helm looked rather like the headdress of the villain from the Classic Disney rendition of Sleeping Beauty.

Ymirjar Battlelord

The Crusader’s Resolution, Raging Behemoth’s Shoulderplates (N), Carapace of Imbibed Flame (N), Verdigris Chain Belt, Legguards of Lost Hope (N), Taldaram’s Plated Fists (N), Blood-Soaked Saronite Stompers (N)
If Keija is going to be the Battlelord of the Valarjar, she might as well look the part (for a little while, at least).

Nifflevar Berserker

Brutish Shoulders, Barbaric Iron Breastplate, Earthswell Belt, Legplates of Dominion, Gauntlets of Enforcement, Loam-Stained Greaves, Nifflevar Bearded Axe, Lifeforce Hammer
This axe, a Northrend Vrykul Archaeology rare find, and this mace, which is crafted, have sufficiently similar styling that I’ve long thought that they ought to be used in a dual-wield kit together.

Justicar

Justicar Armor with Void-Warped Oshu’gun Mace, Aldori Legacy Defender, and Aldor Tabard
I finished the whole Draneor!Nagrand main storyline with Karaelia just so that I could have photo-ops with Yrel in the future.

Freezing Rain

Salt-Scorched Shoulderguard, Field Plate Armor, Replica Soulforge Belt, Legguards of the Emerald Brood (H), Flash Freeze Gauntlets (H), Life Force Chargers (H), Saber of the Ebon Blade
The Saber of the Ebon Blade is surprisingly bright and pretty, for a Death Knight weapon. The original appearance of the model was as the weapon wielded by Al’Akir in the Throne of Four Winds; it’s also used as the Sunsoul Sword that Paladins get from the Warlords Salvage Yard.

Storm Light

Warmongering Gladiator’s Ironskin Helm & Legguards, Poison Protocol Pauldrons (N), Spell Fencer’s Jacket, Brown Belt of Humbling Gravity, Frostwolf Mitts, Warmongering Gladiator’s Boots of Victory, Sonic Spear
I got this new chestpiece and thought it would look great with these white pants. It looks rather different on my Monk than it does on my Demon Hunter, who was the one who actually acquired it, though. If I tried the same combo of chestpiece, pants, and hat with my Demon Hunter, the rest of the items in the ensemble would probably end up being entirely different.

Dunestrider

Mask of the Unforgiven, Broodmother Armor, Eighty Silver Links, Warmongering Gladiator’s Leggings, Runic Leather Gauntlets, Marius’ Soles of Slaying, Cloak of the Shrouded Mists, Keen Marshfang Slicer
I’m not too fond of the pants that are in the set with this chestpiece — but these pants look great with it!

Guardian of Cenarius and G’Hanir

Cenarion Raiment with Belt of Cheapened Lives, Cloak of Enthralling Darkness, and Wildfury Greatstaff
The Cenarion belt has always seemed too bright, somehow. I like the overall effect better with this darker belt.

Finder of Unseen Paths

Gorrog’s Serene Gaze, Stormforged Shoulders, Trailseeker Vest & Greaves, Replica Beaststalker’s Belt & Pants, Talhide Lined-Gloves
I love the pretty gilded edging on this hood.
I wanted to use a long green cloak with this kit, but it clipped too badly with the quiver — as in, it almost completely covered it!

Runed Copper

Runed Copper set with Mantle of the Golden Forest and Engraved Boots
This is one of the first armor sets that a Blacksmith can learn to craft. It is mail, but the rest of the color schemes for this armor style are plate.

This series of posts began because I set myself a goal to document new Transmogrification outfits in a more timely fashion. As soon as I create a new outfit, I write it up in a draft post. As the weekend approaches, I start working on taking fashion screenshots, processing them, and updating “Things my [Class] Wears” posts. On Sunday — though not every Sunday — I publish the collection of my recent efforts. Then I begin the next “Sunday on the Promenade” draft post.

Occasionally, I have ideas for themed Transmogrification collections that take several months to completely assemble. Thus, some of these outfits might get re-posted at a later date as part of such a themed Transmogrification collection.

If any of you, my dear readers, have kits that you’d like to share, I’d be happy to add you to the show! Just email me your picture(s), along with a list of the items in the outfit. I don’t regularly check my blog email, though, so if you’ve sent me an outfit, please make a comment on the most recent Sunday Mog Show post so that I know to check my blog email for your contribution.

Last year at Hallow’s End, I went crazy making Horseman’s Helm kits for all of the plate-wearing characters in the Big Fourteen.

I love the Watcher’s Tunic for Hallow’s End, so this year, I’ve made Watcher’s Tunic kits for all of the cloth-wearing characters in the Big Fourteen.

Festival Corsair

First Mate Hat, Death Speaker Mantle*, Watcher’s Tunic, Clutch of Andros*, Nobleman’s Pantaloons, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Buccaneer’s Boots, Orange Martial Shirt, Dying Light
Although I like how black sleeves look with the rest of the design of the tunic, black shirtsleeves underneath do obscure the lacy design of the sleeves of the tunic itself.
I’d been trying to decide between these boots and plain black shoes; when I remembered that I had this hat, then these boots were the obvious choice.

Fire Witch

Jewel of the Firelord, Mantle of Closed Doors (N), Watcher’s Tunic, Braided Manastring Cinch, Vileweave Leggings, Black Mageweave Gloves + Elastic Wristguards, Saltarello Shoes, Amber Filigreed Doublet, Teebu’s Blazing Longsword, Igniter Rod
I kept the Flame Orbs of Felo’melorn toggled off for most of Legion — but for this outfit, they were just what was needed to amp it up to eleven.

Watcher of the Dark Coven

Shoulders of Mercy Killing (25H), Watcher’s Tunic, Ritual Belt, Plaguebringer’s Stained Pants (25H), Mir’s Enthralling Grasp, Saltarello Shoes
Kishalla makes another appearance to wield Ulthalesh for this spooky Hallow’s End outfit.

A Cleansing Fire

Mantle of the Cleansing Flame (N), Watcher’s Tunic, Sash of the Burning Heart, Embersilk Leggings, Black Mageweave Gloves + Supplicant’s Discarded Bracer, Sorcerer Slippers, Red Swashbuckler’s Shirt, Kyparitic Staff
Oh, hey, I found a use for these shoulders — the only piece from the Firelands Priest set that I actually like.

Jolly Jade Giant

The Horseman’s Horrific Hood, Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Dreadplate Shoulders, Jade-Skull Breastplate, Felforged Waistplate, Greaves of the Shatterer, Thatia’s Self-Correcting Gauntlets, Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Warboots of Cruelty, Shawl of the Old Maid
I thought I’d use the green tint of the Blades of the Fallen Prince for Kregga’s Horseman’s Helm kit this year, but it was not quite as bright a green as I had expected it to be. The greens of this particular armor set work rather well as a more saturated version of the green of the swords, though.

Evil Pumpkin King V

Hallowed Helm, Pauldrons of the Wardancer, Silithid Carapace Chestguard, Girdle of the Endless Pit, Greaves of the Shatterer, Ooze-Ridden Gauntlets, Boots of the Colossus, Blade of the Prime
I wished, a year or two ago, that the Hallowed Helm would be made Moggable. Now it is! Well, at least for the duration of the Hallow’s End holiday, which is quite enough.
These big orange Klaxxi swords just begged to be used in a DW Hallow’s End outfit. I tried the outfit first with the Horseman’s Helm, but it just didn’t click until I used the pumpkin helm instead.

Stormwind Costume

Imperial Plate set with Pauldrons of the Promise, Girdle of Uther, Jouster’s Gauntlets, Crazy Cenarion Cloak, Blade of the Silver Hand, and Maximillian’s Shield
Before Warlords, when the Stormwind Set was made available through the Dwarven Bunker Garrison building, the crafted Imperial Plate set was the favored way to imitate the look of the Stormwind Guards.
These shoulders were mail before patch 7.0. I wish that plate lookalikes had been added instead of converting the mail items to plate, because I would still like to be able to use the blue and black versions of this shoulder style for my mail-wearers.

Illidari Warp-Storm

Cursed Vision of Sargeras, Bladefang Spaulders, Shroud of Nature’s Harmony, Shifting Sash of Midnight, Cinderweb Leggings (N), Fuzzy Gloves + Bracers of Shattered Stalactites, Zierhut’s Lost Treads, Green Trophy Tabard of the Illidari, Warp-Storm Warblade
Certain Legion structures bear a remarkable resemblance to this Burning Crusade dungeon-drop weapon…

Between baby and school, I’ll probably going to continue have very little time for Azeroth at least until the end of this semester. It’s a situation of my own making, so I’m trying not to complain too much about it.. but I nonetheless feel like making a wistful lament. Though there’s often one or two evenings a week when I have too much work to do after baby goes to bed to feel like I can afford to log on, I’ve still usually been able to log on for fifteen to thirty minutes a day, which is enough time to turn over Champion missions with Kamalia and Kaelinda (yes, I know I could do this with the mobile app), do a few WQs with Kaelinda if Suramar or Kirin Tor Emissary is up, and do August Celestials rep with the Underpowered Death Knight. I’m managing to make progress, of a sort; between the 7.3 changes to Artifact Knowledge and prioritizing Artifact Power Champion missions, Kaelinda has reached Concordance on all three of her Artifact weapons, and Kamalia has reached Concordance on both Sharas’dal and the Fist of Ra-den. But when will I finish Suramar? Or go to the Broken Shore? Or go to Argus? I don’t know. I feel like getting to Argus is so far away that I’ve long since given up on trying to avoid spoilers about the storyline there.

Anyhow, here are some outfits I’ve made in the past few weeks. As you might guess, I’m working on making outfits in all the armor types to go with some of my favorite tabards — so you can expect to see most of these outfits show up again in themed collection posts somewhere down the line.

~*~*~

Child of Blood and Fire

Crown of Woe, Supple Shoulderguards & Waistguard (2-655), Primalstorm Breastplate, Illidari Leggings, Ironpelt Mitts & Boots
This Artifact tint is awarded for completing the level 103 stage of the Order Hall campaign.
For this outfit series, I had planned to use each blade color with the corresponding tattoo color. This magenta/purple-red is the red tattoo color that female Demon Hunters get. Unfortunately, it clashes somewhat with the scarlet/orange-red of the blades. The red tattoo color that male Demon Hunters get would be better for this outfit.

Dalaran Mage

Researcher’s Mantle, Darkmoon Robe, Gossamer Belt, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Elementalist Boots, Whelp Keeper’s Staff
Some very simple shoulders dress this outfit up just a little bit.

Ebon Sunreaver Battlemage

Cowl of the Grand Engineer, Mantle of the Elven Kings, Cindercloth Vest, Black Belt of Knowledge, Pantaloons of Growing Strife, Gloves of Tyri’s Power, Saltarello Shoes, Ebon Filigreed Doublet, Angerstaff, Sunreaver Tabard
As I was putting together this kit, I looked for pieces that were black and red and gold and went well with the tabard. When I went to take pictures of this outfit, I realized why this combination seemed so natural for a Sunreaver…

Dusky Sunreaver Herald

Bonechewer Shoulderguards, Raging Spirit Harness, Murkblood Belt, Fel Leather Leggings, Blacksting Gloves, Goat Hide Boots, Wind-Reaver’s Dagger of Quick Strikes, Amber Slicer of Klaxxi’vess, Sunreaver Tabard
I’ve long thought that the Mantid-styled daggers from Pandaria would look great with the Sunreaver tabard. I didn’t get around to doing the Argent Tournament with my Rogue until just recently, though.

The Good Earth

Straw Hat, Reporter’s Shoulderguards, Shaladrassil Tunic, Belt of Cheapened Lives, Overgrowth Cutter Breeches, Gloves of the Afterlife, Boots of the Flowering Earth, Garden Pitchfork, Yellow Lumberjack Shirt, Tillers Tabard
This is at least the third “farmer” kit I’ve made for Kate, but I hadn’t made one that used the Tillers tabard yet.

Khan of Knowledge

Khan’s set with Battleforge Shoulderguards, Golden Saronite Dragon, Turpster’s Sonorous Shield, and Lorewalkers Tabard
I’d started building a rather different outfit to go with this tabard, but when I put on these shoulders, it suddenly seemed fitting to go for the full Khan’s set.

August Sentinel

Pauldrons of the Argent Sentinel, Light-Touched Breastplate, Jade Tiger Girdle, Legplates of the Bold, Faith Bearer’s Gauntlets, Nar’thalas Sabatons, Starshatter (LFR), August Celestials tabard
The Underpowered Death Knight had to be the model for a plate August Celestials kit because blue-and-white.
I picked these glowing white shoulders with the floating shards to echo the stars in the tabard design. When I got to choosing boots, I liked how the black of these boots contrasted with the white of the shoulders, and how both items are tied into the rest of the kit by their gold trim.

Dalaran Spellscribe

Magnificent Aeroglide Shoulderpads, Robe of the Moccasin, Nesingwary’s Sash, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Hu’rala’s Slippers, Warpstaff of Arcanum, Tabard of the Kirin Tor
This rare spawn NPC used to be the source of the Black Tabby pet. Now, that pet can only be found on the Black Market Auction House.
I thought about using these shoulders with the other black robe Kirin Tor outfits; they seemed the most appropriate for this one, though. The NPC belt isn’t available to players; Nesingwary’s Sash seemed to be the best replacement.

Dalaran Apprentice

Manaweave Robe*/Chromatic Robe, Circle of Ossus, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Suspicious Slippers, Ley Staff*
This outfit is a bit of a cheat. The NPC outfit uses the leather Songbird Blouse with the skirt of the Chromatic Robe. The Chromatic Robe is common quality and thus non-Transmogrifiable. The nearest Transmogrifiable item is the Manaweave Robe — which was rewarded from a pre-Cataclysm Mage class quest chain and is no longer availabe (except perhaps for Blood Elves?).

Emerald City

Watcher’s Cap, Blight-Lifter’s Mantle, Windroc Shroud, Mana-Cord of Deception (H), Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Boots of Duress, Cloak of the Makers, Khadgar’s Knapsack
I might not have ever used the green appearances of the Mage Artifact weapons if it hadn’t occurred to me that they’d go rather well with this outfit.
When I was leveling through the Jade Forest with my Human Mage, I wondered what the Oz backdrop was doing on the wall at Dreamer’s Pavilion. It occurs to me now that it is probably representing a painting of a journey to the Temple of the Jade Serpent.

Heavenly & Venerable

Warmongering Gladiator’s Mantle of Cruelty, Anacondra’s Robe, Nethershard Girdle, Regal Gloves, Permafrost Cape, August Celestials Tabard, Clear Crystal Rod*
The Twilight Mantle is a perfect color match for this robe, but that style is uncomfortably large on Tauren. Besides, wings are so much more awesome.

Serpent Strike

Bristlebark Pauldrons, Armor of the Fang, Headhunter’s Belt, Luminary Kilt, Toughened Leather Gloves, Supple Boots (3-670)
This Artifact tint is awarded for retrieving Light’s Heart.
This outfit would also be very nice for a Druid or a Monk.

Needs More Spikes

Helm of the Illidari Shatterer, Tundra Pauldrons, Tomb-Curse Chestplate, Frostwolf Stalwart Girdle, Crafted Malevolent Gladiator’s Plate Legguards, Gauntlets of the Bold, Blood-Soaked Saronite Stompers (N), Bulwark of Azzinoth
Because you can never have too many spikes if you’re a Warrior of the Horde.

The first installment of Sunday on the Promenade was one year ago last weekend (the 20th). I’d have made this post then, but RL has been so busy for the past few weeks with family events and getting ready for school to start — an even crazier crunch than usual this year because of moving into our awesome new science building — that I just didn’t have the time to do Mog photoshoots until yesterday (and I didn’t have time or energy to try the Trial of Style, either).

Thank you to everyone who has left such kind comments all year long! ❤

To celebrate this milestone, I've made new outfits for all of the Big Fourteen.

Frostwall Magus

Red Pointy Hat, Mantle of Tirisfal, Crimson Silk Robe, Wild Gladiator’s Cord of Cruelty, Hexweave Gloves (1-640), Infernoweave Boots, Eternally Folded Blade, Socrethar’s Stone
The Horde counterpart to the Lunarfall Arcanist, sort-of. I suppose the Horde Spirit Lodge with its Frostwall Shaman is thematically appropriate for most of the Horde races, but I’d rather have the Alliance Mage Tower for a Blood Elf.

Dalaran Theurgist

Hallowed Pauldrons, Black Mageweave Robe, Wizard’s Belt, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Hu’rala’s Slippers, Tabard of the Kirin Tor, Chelley’s Staff of Dark Mending
The NPC robe resembles the Necrology robe on the top and the Black Mageweave Robe on the bottom. Because the tabard covers much of the top of the robe, the Black Mageweave Robe is the best choice to endeavor to match these NPCs.
If I am remembering correctly, these NPCs not only carried a Priest-like staff, they also had Priest-like abilities.

Dalaran Courier

Headhunter’s shoulders & belt, Darkmoon Vest, Cinderweb Leggings (H), Expedition Gloves, Bonechewer Shredboots, Rich Purple Silk Shirt, Tabard of the Kirin Tor, Rolfsen’s Ripper
Some messages should not be transmitted magically and must still be carried by hand from the sender to the recipient.

Guardian of the Violet Tower

Jade Tiger Shoulders, Glowing Breastplate of Truth, Uktar’s Belt of Chiming Rings, Eldritch Reinforced Legplates, Sunsoul Gauntlets, Treads of the Penitent Man (H), Drape of the Violet Tower, Tabard of the Kirin Tor, Bloodmaw Magus-Blade, Protective Barricade of the Light
I like the way this belt interacts with the tabard; the Girdle of Truth looks nice if you’d rather see the whole tabard.
With Uktar’s Belt, the Heroic Burden of Mortality was a little too much for the overall ensemble. With the Girdle of Truth, however, it looks quite nice.

The Sunsoul Gauntlets are the only Paladin-specific item in this kit. The Shattered Hand Gauntlets are a decent alternative for other plate-wearing classes.

Black Eye

Furious Gladiator’s Dreadplate Shoulders, Heroic Armor, The Plaguebringer’s Girdle, Thunderforge Leggings, Sandspire Gloves*, Demonbreaker Crushers, Sentinel’s Winter Cloak, Rimefang’s Claw
A difficulty with Death Knight kits is that because they are so often black, less black, and more black, they tend to begin to look all the same even though the contributing armor pieces may be widely varied in style and source.
This sword model first appeared in a red version carried by the Kirin Tor Battle Mages at Ulduar. I’d love to get my hands on that firey version some day; WTB a gold and purple version of this sword model, too, pls.

Twilight Dragonsworn

Temporal Pauldrons, Truesteel Breastplate (2-655), Earthswell Belt, Elder Tortoiseshell Legplates, High Chief’s Gauntlets & Sabatons, Tempered Vis’kag the Bloodletter
Whenever I’ve tried to make a kit with these pauldrons previously, I’ve always toyed with using these purple gloves and boots, then dismissed them as not fitting the concept I had in mind. Now that all those other ideas have been made, I can finally use them.

Taunka Warrior Princess

Princess Poobah’s Tiara, Replica Spaulders of Heroism, Nether Protector’s Chest, Royal Qiraji Belt, Lofty Legplates, Grips of the Fallen Council (LFR), Mosscrusher Sabatons, Cloak of the Valiant Defender, Ghostly Battle Axe
While updating the image links in the Underpowered Death Knight’s history, I came across a platekini outfit idea for her that I’d called by this name. Due to intervening expansions and the advent of the Appearances library, however, the chestpiece and leggings are all that this (rather nicer looking) kit has in common with the original concept.

Serpents in the Mists

Champion’s Pauldrons, Formidable Chestpiece, Belt of the Iron Prison (LFR), Tristam Legguards*, Skyhorn Gloves, Boots of Elemental Torment, Misthide Drape, Order of the Cloud Serpent Tabard, Wu-Lai, Bladed Fan of the Consorts (LFR), Flamecaller’s Shield
This cloud-like mixture of pale silvers, greys, and blues allows the brighter, yet still subtle, colors of the tabard, cloak, and shield to emerge like a cloud serpent from the mists.

Cloud Spinner

Arachnidian Robes, Belt of Arcane Storms (N), Replica Virtuous Gloves + Leywalker Bracers, Slippers of Serenity, Used Bar Rag, Order of the Cloud Serpent Tabard, Staff of Athen’a
I hadn’t made an outfit with this coloration of this robe style yet, and it occurred to me that it might have the right sort of colors to coordinate nicely wtih the Cloud Serpent tabard. Well, the aquas do, anyway. I’d forgotten how green the skirt is.

Pandaren Homespun

Cyno’s Mantle of Sin, Cat Lover’s Vest, Belt of the Night Sky, Leggings of the Night Sky, Shadowmoon Grips, Footfalls of Memories, Epoch-Mender
These pants are similar to the Homespun Leggings, a quest reward from the Wandering Isle. These NPCs are wearing the robes from that outfit style, which I wish were obtainable in Transmogrification-friendly versions.

The White Master

Warmongering Gladiator’s Ironskin with Meowl’s Mane, Vault Watcher’s Cloak, and Icecore Staff
This PvP recolor is my favorite version of the Hellfire Citadel Monk tier set. I love the whiteness of it, and how that whiteness is gently accentuated by the light blue and beige.

Heart of Thunder

Thunderheart helm shoulders & gloves, Canyon Runner’s Vest, Mighty Girdle, Leggings of the Immortal Night, Naturewarden’s Treads, Wisdom of Dionor, Origin of Nightmares
Though it drops in Naxxramas, this staff has always seemed to me like it was made to go with the Druid Black Temple set. I’m not particularly fond of the torso part of the chestpiece of that set, however, so after a bit of fiddling around with chestpieces and leggings, I settled upon this combination.

Raven’s Sight

Tsanga’s Helm, Poison Protocol Pauldrons (N), Frostwolf Tunic, Replica Wildheart Belt, Kilt of the Night Strider, Fuzzy Gloves + Glowing Wing Bracers (N), Boots of the Forked Road
This Artifact tint was awarded for recovering a Pillar of Creation.
To build this kit, I started with the shoulders. I feel like the chestpiece doesn’t quite fit with the rest of the kit, but I do like the way it displays her tattoos. I’m not quite sure the hat fits, either, but it wanted to be there anyway.

Reaver of the Infinites

Malefactor’s Eyepatch, Rancorbite Spaulders, Scale Brand Breastplate, Battlebound Girdle, Wildwood Wrangler Leggings, Gatesmashing Gauntlets, Treads of the Valiant Struggle, Reaver of the Infinites
I’d been wanting to use this 2H axe. Thinking about hunting the black-scaled Infinite Dragonflight, I chose this tunic, and then the rest of the kit developed from there.

After doing the main storyline of Val’sharah twelve times to collect the Tears of Elune and unlock the “acquire a Pillar of Creation” Artifact tint with each class, I felt inspired to create a set of Nightmare-touched Transmogrification kits. As so often happens whenever I have such an idea, between collecting all the items I would need and other ideas that popped up, it’s taken me quite some time to get around to realizing it in-game.

PvP gear — especially early PvP gear — tends to have the blood red and black color scheme now associated with the Emerald Nightmare. I don’t PvP, so I’ve picked up all of the PvP items in my wardrobe by cheater methods — turning in T4 & T5 raid tokens to the Exotic Gear Purveyors on the Isle of Quel’danas, buying Champion’s Honor tokens at the Auction House during Warlords, using my Mage’s insta-WQ Order Hall perk to pick up Marks of Honor during Legion.

Malorne’s Nightmare

Gladiator’s Dragonhide Armor with Cloak of the Untamed Predator and Crimson Steel/Dagger of the Horde Vanguard/Shadow Wing Focus Staff/Funeral Pyre (H)
This Druid-specific kit was way too obvious and appropriate an idea to pass up.
If you’re capable of raiding Heroic or Mythic Emerald Nightmare — and you get very lucky — then of course you should sub in the The First Satyr’s Spaulders.
Fist weapons for Guardian; daggers for Feral; Shadow Wing Focus Staff for Balance; and Funeral Pyre for Resto. I like Funeral Pyre for Resto because it looks sort of like the twisted, cracked, glowing corrupted roots of Shaladrassil. The Talon Guard Staff would also be a good choice for the Resto version of this kit.

The Earthmother’s Nightmare

Vengeful Gladiator’s Ringmail Spaulders, Wild Gladiator’s Ringmail Armor, Stormwrap, Vengeful Gladiator’s Ringmail Gauntlets, Greatcloak of the Turned Champion, Crimson Steel + Gladiator’s Shield Wall/Firecrystal Mace + Crest of Supremacy/Bloodskull Destroyer + Swiftsteel Bludgeon
Of course I had to use these shoulders, which have been an iconic Shaman look since Burning Crusade. I tried an all-red outfit, but that didn’t fit the “Earthmother” name I wanted to give this kit very well. So I looked around a little more, and this Warlords PvP chest was just right.
Fist weapon + shield for Elemental; 1H mace + shield for Resto; and dual-wield 1H maces for Enhancement.

Nightmares of the Damned

Helm of Infinite Visions, Shoulderplates of the Eternal, Inferno Tempered Chestguard, Darkcrest belt gloves & boots, Primordial Bloodsoaked Vambraces, Runed Sketh’lon Legplates, Crimson Paragon’s Cover, Shortblade of the Uncrowned + Gladiator’s Shield Wall/Hatebringer/Warmonger
The Blood Knights and Death Knights have had the “nightmare paladin” angle covered for years; this outfit takes cues from both of them. Using the Darkcrest (or Boulderfist) items brings in some purplish undertones, though, which are another characteristic of Legion‘s Emerald Nightmare color scheme.
The bracers are red and blue, but just the red top band peeps up above the gloves, just enough to cover an otherwise distracting gap between the sleeves of the chestplate and the gloves.
Sword + shield for Prot; 2H mace for Holy; and 2H sword for Ret.

Nightmares of Eternal Darkness

Faded Spirit-Wrencher Shoulders, Fireworm Robes, Gem-Inlaid Velvet Cinch, Gloves of Piscine Attraction + Bracers of Martyrdom, Brilliant Hexweave Cloak (3-670), Blood Weeper + Prophetic Cane*/Damnation/Twisted Visage
Dagger + off-hand for Shadow; Damnation for Holy; Twisted Visage for Disc. The Netherlord’s Staff of Summoning and Abracadaver also look great with this outfit.

I made a few other new kits, too.

Blood Lust (Not Heroism)

Helm of Affinity, Vengeful Gladiator’s Ringmail Spaulders, Crimson Mail Hauberk, Scarlet Belt*, Inferno Forged Leggings, Vengeful Gladiator’s Ringmail Gauntlets, Earthbreaker’s Greaves, Rising Tide
A preliminary idea for a mail “Nightmare” kit that was entirely too much red. I really liked it, though, and I didn’t want to wait a week or two to make it with Kamalia Prime (and it’s not really very much her style anyway), so mini-Kam gets a new outfit.

Wyrmrest Protector

Temporal Pauldrons, Crimsonforge Breastplate, Girdle of Lordaeron’s Fallen, Bloodlord Legplates, Gauntlets of Cruel Intention, Boots of Zealotry, Tabard of the Wyrmrest Accord, Firethorn Mindslicer, Red Dragonscale Protector
I originally planned to make this outfit concept — red dragon shoulders & shield + Wyrmrest tabard — with my Paladin, but then I thought, my Warrior can use shields, too, so why should my Paladin get to have all the fun?
It always surprises me how dark and subdued the colors in these shoulders are. I think that the red recolor of the Warrior T1 set, with the belt from the red recolor of the Paladin T6 set, is a suitable intermediate shade of red to bridge the difference between the maroon of the shoulders and the crimson and scarlet of the tabard and shield.

Cloud Rider

Grievous Gladiator’s Ironskin Spaulders, Jinxed Hoodoo Skin, Pennyroyal Belt, Clefthoof Britches & Wanderboots, Grips of Slicing Electricity (LFR), Order of the Cloud Serpent Tabard, Staff of Trembling Will
Everyone else in the Lotus Garden collection had gotten a new outfit, so I decided to give Kate a new outfit, too. This is another of my favorite tabards from Pandaria. I love its soft, pastel colors.
Here is an alternate version of the outfit using the Belt of the Silent Path, which has very similar colors to the tabard, and the Mantle of Wicked Revenge.

Pandaren Parasol

Faded Forest Silk Cowl, Brewer’s Robe, Galaxyfire Girdle, Breezebinder Handwraps, Kurkenstoks, Skystrider Katana, Umbrella of Chi-ji
The Umbrella of Chi-ji is one of my favorite Archaeology items ever! I love the model — though I do wish that equipping or mogging to it also gave the animation of holding it over the shoulder, like Aki the Chosen does, because it’s so big.

The other day, I had a bit of an obsessive-compulsive fit and updated the image links in all of my themed Transmogrification collection posts that feature specific items. These posts are now linked at the bottom of the main Transmogrification page using icons of the featured items.

~*~*~

Between a couple of weekends that were busy with family events and getting blindsided by a Photobucket policy change that gutted most of the image links on my blog, this installment of the Sunday Mog Show has become quite delayed. Some of these characters have already been wearing these kits for two or three weeks.

Dalaran Conjuror

Amice of the Convoker, Necrology Robes, Wizard’s Belt, Exiled Dabbler’s Gloves, Hu’rala’s Slippers, Battle Mage’s Baton, Kirin Tor Tabard
This outfit was one of my primary reasons for wanting the Necrology Robes.
For all that the portal to Dreadscar Rift is hidden away in the tunnels leading to the Underbelly, the wizards of Dalaran aren’t all as opposed to dark magics as they might outwardly claim. Prior to the Shattering, Dalaran Conjurors accompanied by voidwalkers could be found in the area near Ambermill and Dalaran Crater.

Kirin Tor of Dalaran II

Theramore Arcanist’s Hat*, Mantle of Nimble Thought, Buccaneer’s Vest, Oracle Belt of Timeless Mystery, Khadgar’s Kilt of Abjuration, Soulcloth Gloves, Ringo’s Blizzard Boots, Drape of the Lithe, Cold Convergence, Kirin Tor Offensive Tabard
I was never really quite satisfied with the original version of this outfit because the belt wasn’t quite right (I should have just gone and farmed up this belt at the time). So here is an updated version that I like a lot better.

Polychromatic Magesight

Crown of Endless Knowledge, Gladiator’s Silk Amice, Polychromatic Visionwrap*, Girdle of Tirisgarde, Colorful Kilt, Silkwood Handguards, Kurkenstoks, Ebon Filigreed Shirt, Pilfered Ethereal Blade, Penelope’s Rose*
Having obtained a spare T4 shoulder token, Kaelinda decided to exchange it for the PvP version of the Aldor shoulders. The colors reminded me of this (now sadly unavailable) chestpiece; good alternatives would be the Death-Speaker’s Tunic, Simple Blouse, or Aboriginal Robe. I’d still want a shirt with the robe, but not with either of the alternate tunics.

Veil of Deception

The Brood Queen’s Veil, Shoulders of the Roiling Inferno (LFR), Torment Ender’s Chestguard, Illidari Belt, Bladefang Legguards, Bat Fur Mitts, Treads of the Dark Hunt
An outfit to complement the default green tint of the Twinblades of the Deceiver — and the corresponding upgraded appearance, of course.
I like the mix of brighter and darker greens in this outfit.
Although it does look pretty nifty and very appropriate for a Demon Hunter, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever use this helm again. When I was looking for a possible hat for this kit — with my usual caveat that if I couldn’t find a hat that was really good, I just wouldn’t use a hat at all — and I tried this one on, the green gem in the center of the band just pulled the whole ensemble together.

Rolfsen’s Right Hand

Mighty Spaulders, Dementia Vest, Slayer’s Belt, Bonechewer Ripleggings & Shredboots, Runic Leather Gauntlets, Rolfsen’s Ripper
These elegant, beautiful daggers wanted an elegant, sleek kit to go with them. Admittedly, the color is not particularly suited for sneaking around at night — rather, imagine her standing unobtrusively just within earshot of Lor’themar Theron, Grand Magister Rommath, or Halduron Brightwing at an elite Silvermoon sociopolitical function.

Some Enchanted Inkling

Geodecrack Shoulderguards, Enchanted Thorium Breastplate, Replica Belt of Valor, Inkling’s Leggings, Felforged Gauntlets, Grim Sabatons, Cranewing Cloak, Widow Blade
Having worn all of the brightly-colored variations of the Imbued Plate style, now it was time to wear the the black & silver coloration. This version of the Imbued Plate style is only a partial set. The chestpiece is the hardest to find, as it is crafted from a pattern that is no longer obtainable.
I’m so glad that the Mists Legendary cloaks and their precursors are Transmogrifiable, so that their appearances can now be used by characters who fulfil other combat roles.
For a rather more ostentatious look, use the Pauldrons of Abyssal Fury.

Morrowgrain Researcher

Straw Hat, Spore-Covered Tunic, Tree Warden’s Belt, Ranger Pants, Gloves of the Pathfinder, Swift Cenarion Footwear, Garden Scythe
When I found out that the Balance Artifact weapon would be a scythe, I started saving up my Draenic Seeds to get the Garden Scythe to Transmogrify it with.
