Shoryl has kicked off a new Transmogrification challenge!
It goes like this:
Tag another blogger to create a mog outfit for one of your toons. But that’s not all. To get a really good mog outfit, they’re going to need a little bit of background. So here’s what info you should provide:
Character name, race and gender (and server, so they can go look at things like hair color and facial features!)
Character class (and spec, if you feel it’s important)
If desired, an item you’d like them to use in the outfit
A sentence or two about your character’s personality, or what you’re looking for in the outfit.
Cymre was the first one tagged, and she created two great outfits for Shoryl’s Dwarf Priest, Sruith. Now Cymre has tagged moi to create a look for her Orc Hunter, Tallys, using the Rough Bronze Cuirass. Cymre notes that Tallys doesn’t do end-game raiding, prefers bows and crossbows to guns, and is a skilled leatherworker with most of the patterns obtained from drops.
Taking Tallys’ Leatherworking profession as my major inspiration for her Transmogrification Template Kit, I chose the Tough Scorpid Leggings for the pants and the Heavy Scorpid Belt for the waist. The Warmonger’s Shoulders and Malefactor’s Eyepatch coordinated handsomely.
I found three sets of gloves & boots that I liked:
bright Barbaric Iron (crafted, blacksmithing), mid-toned Tough Scorpid (crafted, leatherworking), and dark Savage Gladiator (Ring of Law event in BRD).
Using the mid-tone gloves with the dark boots produced the overall appearance that I liked best.
Advanced Flatbow, Nightstalker Bow, Under-Arm Crossbow (shown with Mail Combat Headguard as alternate helm)
I feel like a shirt such as the Thunder Bluff Doublet (shown above in the picture with the three gloves & boots combinations) or the Dark Silk Shirt really pulls the whole ensemble together nicely, but of course Cymre may choose to consider it optional.
I also created this brighter “Red Rocks of Durotar” alternate Transmogrification Template Kit:
Malefactor’s Eyepatch, Pauldrons of the Deafening Gale, Rough Bronze Cuirass, Girdle of the Dauntless Conqueror, Replica Beastmaster Pants, Time Twister’s Gauntlets (alternate: Arrowflick Gauntlets), Lancer’s Greaves, Dark Silk Shirt, Trophy Gatherer
This was fun, Cymre, thanks!
I tag Effraeti to create an outfit for my Draenei Mage, Kaprikka, using the Soulcloth Vest & White Swashbuckler’s Shirt .
Kaprikka is quite young, for an adult Draenei; she was born in Farahlon a few decades after the Draenei settled on Draenor. She may have been one of the apprentices Kaelinda befriended during her disguised tour of the Alliance capitals, and Kaprikka and Kaelinda may yet become fast friends under the auspices of the Shattered Sun on Quel’Danas. She adores children. Perhaps what she needs is an attractive (yet modest — hence the shirt) dating outfit to help her catch the eye of some young Draenei buck, so that she can eventually get married and have children of her own?
Kaprikka is currently level 60 and I doubt that I will ever raid with her. However, raid gear from anyplace that you predict will be easily soloable by a Mage at level 90 is fair game.
I like it a lot and may have to “borrow” it for my Orc Shaman who could be Tally’s twin sister visually.
😀 So could my Orc Shaman, as a matter of fact — she has the same face and skin tone, but she has earrings along with her nosering, and she has a plum topknot instead of being bald. I think I’d change her hair color to copper to wear with either one of these sets, though.
Oh wow! How exciting! Thanks for the tag, Kamalia! I shall do my best to make Kaprikka beautiful! 😀
*runs off to furiously begin transmogging*

Eeeee! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! 😀
Wow, thanks for all the combinations Kam. They’re great! I love the eye patch and you’re right, Tals doesn’t mind showing a bit of skin, she just loves that bald head of hers too.
I’m really loving the red set at the bottom. I just think it’s more her style but she may just prove me wrong and end up using one of the top ones 😛
Thanks so much for all you’re effort 🙂
You’re welcome! I’m so glad you like them! To tell the truth, I think I’m more partial to the red-and-brown set, too. I just love those shoulders with their detail of the little ribbons hanging out the bottom. Both the shoulders and belt from the red set come from the Trial of the Champion 5-man Heroic, though, and I seem to recall that JD has had great difficulty getting that belt to drop for Liouxpold. Perhaps Tallys might want to wear the first set, with several items she can craft herself, until she gets the drops for the second set?
These look great! I actually like the red rocks look a lot.
I don’t expect anyone to tag me, but if they do I’m so giving them Frank to work with.
I hope someone *does* tag you, because more appearances of Frank would be all kinds of awesome!
I’m glad you enjoyed the challenge, Kam, and these are totally awesome orc looks!
Thanks! And thank YOU for coming up with this fun idea!
