A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Tauren Rogue. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).

12) Sky-Captain’s Plunder

Plunderlord’s Tricorne of Admiralty, Plunderlord’s Tassled Spaulders, Plunderlord’s Drapery, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Coat, Thick Sauroskin Gloves, Plunderlord’s Golden Cinch, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Pants, Plunderlord’s Muckscrapers, Plunderlord’s Fine Rapier
The Plunderlord outfit was rewarded from Keg Leg’s Crew (Plunderstorm) Renown levels 23 – 38.
Once I had it, this was a mix-and-match that just had to happen.

11) Taverner’s Treasure

Reno’s Lucky Hat, Hidden Shoulder + Supple Shoulderguards (stage 2), Treasure Nabbin’ Bag, Plainstalker Tunic, Runic Leather Gauntlets, Taverner’s Belt, Dragonhawk Pants, Stolen Talrendis Boots, Expeditionary Dagger
I liked the way this kit looked with bare shoulders, but I also liked how the blue jewel on the Supple shoulders complemented the blue jewels in Reno’s Lucky Hat and the Taverner’s Belt.

Coming this fall to the Trading Post: Class-specific armor and weapon sets!

The catch, though, is that the armor sets are 450 Tender each, and the weapon sets are 500 Tender each, and one can only gain 1000 Tender each month. So, one armor set and one weapon set with 50 to bank for the next month, two armor sets with 100 to bank for the next month, or two weapon sets with nothing left over to bank for the next month.

Let’s take a look at the offerings. What do I want to get NAO, what do I want to hope comes around again next fall, and what’s a no-thanks?

Overall, stylistically a lot of the armor sets have resonances with previous favorite armor sets, and a lot of the weapon sets have resonances with Artifact weapon designs.

September
Paladin: armor set coloration is definitely chosen to coordinate with the Classic Judgment set, while the weapon set coloration is very Draenei (or the Burning Crusade recolor of the Judgment set); I’d go for both if my Paladin were a higher priority character in my roster, but since I want to save Tender for other stuff in later months, they will have to be a pass for now.
Priest: armor set is a definite NOPE since I don’t lean Shadow/Void aesthetic at all, from the weapon set the mace and book are nice but the staff is a nope; armor set is a hard pass, weapon set is a maybe later.
Rogue: armor set is a maybe later, cuz those shoulders would definitely look cool on my Pirate Ninja Tauren Outlaw; weapon set is a nope cuz my Rogues go for sleek instead of spikes on their blades.

October
Death Knight: nope, nope; the shoulders on the armor set are maybe okay but the rest is still outside how far I’m willing to go even when I do lean into the DK aesthetic for a DK Mog.
Demon Hunter: nope, nope; just not my aesthetic at all
Druid: armor set is a maybe later; weapon set is a YES PLEASE. Well, actually, I think the dagger looks kinda silly with the vines and leaves wrapped around it, but the two staves look awesome.

November
Warlock: nope, nope; just not my thing even when I do lean into the Warlock aesthetic for a Warlock Mog.
Monk: armor set is a maybe later; weapon set is a YES PLEASE. So pretty that I must have even though my Monk is a lower priority character on my roster right now. I love that the Brewmaster staff has both a teapot and a keg!
Warrior: like the Paladin armor set, the Warrior armor set is a maybe later; from the weapon set, I like the shield and the 1H sword but the 2H sword is not my jam, and it is also a maybe later.

December
Evoker: actually, I rather like both of these sets, but since I am not grooving with my Evoker — I do like to get each new class to the max level for the expansion in which it is introduced during that expansion, but that will probably not happen for my Evoker until the end-of-expansion lull — I would rather spend my Tenders on the other sets available this month.
Hunter: like the Evoker, these are both decent sets but I have to tag them as maybe later due to them sharing the month with two of my Big Three classes.
Mage: YES, YES; I think I might even have to wear the hat of this set to get the full three floating orbs look (a la Kael’thas), I’m not actually all that keen on the sword from the weapon set but the staff and off-hand are great.
Shaman: YES, YES; I can totally see Kamalia wearing that armor, and I really just want the shield from the weapon set because it has a great Shu’halo sort of look.

So, I’ll need to have 500 Tender to spend in October and 500 Tender to spend in November and somehow still have 1900 Tender available to spend by the end of December. Oh, and let’s not forget about the Medivh-inspired Guardian items that will be coming to the Trading Post in the autumn months, as well! That whole set will cost 975 Tender. I’ve been spending most of my Tender each month and putting an item on Freeze to purchase the next month — and there’s at least one purchase that I wouldn’t have made if these class sets had been officially announced earlier. I am going to have to be more picky with my spending for the rest of the year.

10) Dread Pirate Dandy

Terokk’s Mask, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Cape, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Coat, Harvester’s Court Handwraps, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Pants, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Boots, The Dreadblades (upgraded, tint 1)
Don’t make me make trouble. Getting stains out of this coat is a right pain in the… hoof.

9) Titans’ Razor

Clefthoof Cover, Celestial Observer’s Constellations, Chestguard of No Remorse, Blue Workman’s Shirt, Gloves of the Unbound, Warmongering Gladiator’s Belt of Prowess (H), Clefthoof Britches, Replica Darkmantle Boots, M’thorus
Kaiuna wanted a new outfit, and she thought these spiffy new Titan-themed daggers from the November 2023 Trading Post capstone reward might be fun to carry around for awhile.

8) Stylin’ Purple

Stylin’ Purple Hat, Wanderer’s Rosy Cloak, Lovely Purple Dress, Leggings of the Fang, Shadow Hold Dagger
The knockout combo of this version of this hat style, which is only available in leather, and this color of the Lovely Dress just had to happen.

7) Novice Card Shark

Stylin’ Jungle Hat, Parrotfeather Cloak, Shifty Merchant’s Tunic, Pirate Sinker’s Gloves, Ruffian Belt*, Black Tuxedo Pants, Hanzo Sword
This dame looks like she doesn’t take winning for granted quite yet, but you should still probably watch out when she antes up.

6) Card Shark

Clever Hat, Wanderer’s Violet Cloak, Fabulously Flashy Finery, Eternal Black Diamond Ring, Seafarer Belt, Black Tuxedo Pants, The Dreadblades (default, tint 3)
If the hat and the ring don’t warn you to beware when this dame joins the table, the blades certainly should.

5) Fan of Knives

Alley Skulker’s Bandana, Mantle of Crimson Blades, Cephalohide Jacket, Felshroud Gloves, Felshroud Belt, Charskin Legguards, Harvester’s Court Slippers, Sinfall Ceremonial Blade
This outfit is pretty but far too showy for anything but exhibition dueling or knife-throwing.

4) Stabbity Rabbity

Ghostwalker set with Spring Circlet, Swashbuckling Buccaneer’s Sash, and Mindsear Shanker
A minor tweak of Kaiuna’s previous outfit, to better fit the Noblegarden aesthetic.

3) Trial of Style: Winter Wear

Boneshredder set with Crimson Beanie, Swashbuckling Buccaneer’s Sash, and Miniature Winter Veil Tree
This theme was so easy for a dagger-wielding leather wearer 😀 This outfit placed 2nd, which was enough tokens to get the leather items I wanted.

2) Harlequin’s Hoard

Darkmoon Harlequin’s Bells with Demonic Gladiator’s Leather Helm, Trusty Treasure Trove, Demonic Gladiator’s Leather Slippers, Surgeon’s Needle and Rolfsen’s Ripper
I couldn’t decide which of these fancy daggers I liked better with this ensemble, so I used them both!

1) Dreadblades’ Plunder

Dread Admiral’s Bicorne, Exceptional Stormshroud Shoulders, Trusty Treasure Trove, Nobleman’s Coat, Bandit Gloves, Seafarer Belt, Nobleman’s Pantaloons, Bandit Boots, The Dreadblades (default, tint 1)
Kaiuna, formerly a Feral Druid, has always enjoyed playing at looking like a Rogue. The March 2023 Trading Post gave her two perfect items for her first official Rogue outfit!

Before logging in with any of my Four Mains, first I needed to create the new alts that Patch 10.0 made possible!

Kaiuna was originally a melee Druid alt, and she’s always had Rogue-ish tendencies (see Things My Druid Wears #2).

This Kazithra is Kregga’s niece, named after her grandmother (my sometime Shadow Priest character).

The “j” in her name is pronounced as a “y” sound.

A new interview with Brian Holinka dropped the tidbit (recapped here by Wowhead and here by Blizzard Watch) that starting in 10.0, all races will be allowed to be Priests, Mages, and Rogues. I am so excited!
I have been arguing ever since Cataclysm that if Tauren Druids could develop into Priests and Paladins, then Tauren Shamans should be likewise allowed to develop into Mages.
My Blood Elf Mage runs Fire, my Void Elf Mage runs Frost, and my Human Mage runs Arcane… but I never got my Human Mage out to Shadowlands, in part because I could never quite decide which Covenant would be the best fit to be her “home” Covenant. Awhile ago, I started imagining that if Tauren could just be allowed to be Mages, I could have a Blood Elf Fire Mage, a Void Elf Arcane Mage, and a Tauren Frost Mage…
Now the question is, should she be Mulgore Tauren or Highmountain Tauren? Well, actually, I’ll probably create one of each, because that’s just the way I roll. And she’ll probably end up being Boosted. I’ll want to have her in the Dragon Isles alongside Kaelinda, Kaelyla, Kamalia, and Kerisa. Furthermore, given how long it’s been taking me to get my Highmountain Tauren Druid leveled the conventional way so as to earn that Heritage Armor, I am just not into the leveling lowbie alts game these days.
As for Rogues, I think I see a Race Change coming my Rogue’s way…

51) Sin’dorei Swiftblade

Bloody Bandanna, Heritage of the Sin’dorei Pauldrons Leggings & Slippers, Cephalohide Jacket, Felshroud Belt & Gloves, The Sunbreaker
I got this Mythic coloration of the chestpiece of the Kul Tiras leather dungeon set from a lucky roll on an Azerite Armor 445 World Quest. It seemed like it would be a perfect fit for playing mix-and-match with the Sin’dorei Heritage Armor.

After the Shadowlands level squish, Kelisanna was level 45; if she were level 48, she could wear the Venthyr Crimson Death Shroud Boots or Harvester’s Court Slippers.

Something that’s been bothering me about the Kyrians of Bastion ever since the initial previews at Blizzcon is how they all look like humans. My characters of other races won’t want to turn into humans in the afterlife, they’ll want to stay themselves.

I’d love to see some more skilled artist than myself create a set of images depicting each of the other player character races with the stance, clothes, blue & white coloration, and angelic wings of the Kyrian, but with the proportions and features unique to each race. #KyrianButStillMe

Looking at the Oribos and Bastion quest sets, Covenant cloak replacements, miscellaneous armor bits, and weapon models — and the various NPC and creature models, though I’m not going to link those Wowhead datamining posts — I’m definitely finding myself drawn most strongly to the aesthetics of Bastion/Kyrian and Ardenweald/Night Fae.
* Kaelinda will still be pursuing Revendreth/Venthyr (because Kael’thas), and my Demon Hunter and Rogue are getting all googly-eyed over what has been shown so far of the Revendreth/Venthyr leather gear.
* All of my other Mages are going nope-nope-nope about the Maldraxxus/Netherlords gear. Yes, even my Forsaken Mage. Kivrinne says, “I’m not that kind of Forsaken! When I eventually go to the Shadowlands for real, I’m going to want to be Kyrian!”
* My Warlock, however, is looking at the Maldraxxus/Netherlords stuff and rubbing her chin saying, “hmmmm, I could maybe go for that cloak replacement with the green floaty stones…”

I haven’t yet pre-purchased Shadowlands because I decided to hold off on doing that until I’d gotten a character of each armor type to level 120 in BfA. So I’ve still got to get Kerisa to level 120 before I’ll buy Shadowlands — but when I do, Kerithian and Kalaneia are now bickering over who will get the level 120 Boost.
* Kalaneia says that she should get it so that she can go be my ambassador to Maldraxxus/Netherlords, since all the Mages are too wimpy to do it.
* Kerithian says that she should get it so that she can be the Druid who will go to Ardenweald/Night Fae, because now that I’ve written two small children into Kerisa’s RP story, how can I possibly put Kerisa’s family through the trauma of sending her to the Shadowlands? and it is uncertain if I’ll manage to get Kasheena leveled to 120 in time for Shadowlands.

Will I ever do more with any of these characters than enter the world and maybe manage to get through the 1-5 zone and out to their racial capital city? Realistically speaking, probably not. Nevertheless, the collector in me still wanted to have a complete set of Classic Classes.

A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Void Elf Rogue. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).

1) In the Shadows of the Shadows

Replica Darkmantle Armor with Wicked Leather Headband and Vibro Knife
I’d thought about getting this set for my Demon Hunter — and indeed I have seen it on other Demon Hunters — but it wasn’t until I made a Void Elf Rogue that I had to have it to Mog over her heirlooms.
Kyrieana is a double agent — though she now appears to be working for the Alliance, her true loyalty remains with Silvermoon. On assignment from the Regent-Lord’s intelligence corps, she infiltrated Magister Umbric’s group. Her reports contributed to Regent-Lord Theron’s judgment that their research into the Void was too dangerous. She remained with the group after they were banished from Silvermoon to continue monitoring their activites; thus, she found herself trapped with all the others when the Incident occurred at the Telogrus Rift. When Alleria at last allowed her to leave Telogrus, Kyrieana made her way to the Ghostlands as quickly as she could and pledged renewed loyalty to Silvermoon, and her intention to keep reporting the activities of the ren’dorei to the Regent Lord, to Halduron Brightwing.

50) Kul Tiran Swashbuckler

Blue Tricorne Hat, Extravagant Epaulettes, Vest of the Azerothian Champion, Fairweather Belt, Flame-Seared Leggings, Antiquity Handler’s Gloves, Ooey-Gooey Galoshes, The Dreadblades (default, Pillar of Creation tint)
This is mostly one of the variations of the leather Kul Tiras dungeon set, with a few substitutions.

49) Eversong Lookout

Lookout’s Tunic*, Lookout’s Pants, Bonechewer gloves & boots, Stung
While I’ve Hidden Kelisanna’s equipped chestpiece so as to show off the no-longer-avaliable pre-Cataclysm shirt version of the Level 1 chestpiece, I’ve actually put on the Level 1 pants. A more fully Mogged kit would use the Bonechewer pants. Kelisanna’s just sitting around in town for now, though, and I do love that unique lilac color in the Lookout’s items.

48) ARReady Got Enuff Crackers

Fleet Commander’s Hat, Gargantuan Mantle, Fierce Gladiator’s Leather Tunic Belt & Legguards, Bard’s Gloves & Boots, and Zorbin’s Mega-Chopper
Cap’n Crackers has to be Cap’n Crackers because there was already a pirate parrot pet named “Crackers” who would come sit on your shoulder when you /whistle at him. Crackers was originally the companion of Fleet Admiral Tethys. After Crackers defected to the Shadowblade during the Legionfall segment of the Rogue Order Hall campaign, Tethys replaced him with a monkey.
As awesome as the shoulders for the Antorus Rogue Tier set look, I had to trade them out for something a little smaller for this kit. They were too big for Crackers to perch on comfortably — though he’d sit on my shoulder when I first /whistled at him, as soon as I started moving, he’d start hovering over my head and would only come back to sitting on my shoulder if I sat down.

47) Carmine Dashing Scoundrel

Fierce Gladiator’s Leather Armor with The Dreadblades (upgraded, default tint)
This set has so many fabulous little details — and the hat was a Must Have!

46) Horde Scout

Fireguard Shoulders, Bladed Chaos Tunic, Aitokk’s Belt, Tough Mushanhide Leggings, Warhide Gloves, Black Featherlight Boots, Orange Martial Shirt, Scout’s Tabard, Wild Combatant’s Slicer
The boldness of this outfit in proclaiming “as a Horde Scout, I am exactly where I am supposed to be” was good cover for Kelisanna as she poked her nose into every aspect of Sylvanas’s operation in Ashenvale and Darkshore to make a full report for Regent-Lord Theron.

45) Quel’dorei at the Sunwell

Brutal Gladiator’s Leather Armor with Blue Linen Shirt and The Dreadblades (Pillar of Creation tint)
This ensemble, the Rogue PVP counterpart to the Sunwell raid set, is the outfit worn by Vereesa Windrunner.

44) Soot-Stained Glitter

Helm of the Fire Festival, Mantle of the Fire Festival, Vest of Forceful Fury, Headhunter’s Belt, Mennu’s Scaled Leggings, Gloves of Issued Challenge (LFR), Felshroud Boots, Master Builder’s Shirt, Alysra’s Razor (N)
A silly outfit for the Midsummer Fire Festival.
Because there isn’t much in the way of either gilding or solid bright yellow in leather, leather was the most difficult armor type to make an outfit to wear with this holiday hat and shoulders. Dark with gilded accents seemed like the best way to go.

43) Crimson Pugilist

Adventurer’s Bandana, Tribal Vest, Feral Cord, Wolf Rider’s Leggings, Bard’s Gloves & Boots, Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade, The Horseman’s Sinister Slicer
Although my Rogue is limited to using daggers or swords, a Monk ought to use an utterly simple fist weapon such as these classic brass knuckles with this kit.

42) Silvermoon Torch Runner

Bloody Bandanna, Silvermoon Tunic, Burning Blade Devotee’s Cinch, Ghostclaw Leggings, Bonechewer Spikegloves & Shredboots, Yaungol Fire Carrier
Shortly after Transmogrification debuted, I participated in an Olympics-themed Transmogrification contest hosted by JD Kenada of Amateur Azerothian. Each contestant was assigned a faction to represent, though they only had to use the colors & thematic motifs of that faction in their first outfit, a kit for their flag-bearer in the opening parade of nationsfactions. I got Silvermoon, and designed a kit very much like this for my flag-bearer/torch runner.
I’ve made a few outfits that were very similar to this for Kelisanna in the past, but with the most recent Winter Olympics fresh in memory, I thought it an opportune moment to make this particular variation on the theme.

41) Omen of Plunder

Crown of Dark Blossoms, Bonechewer Shoulderguards, Festival Suit, Rope-Grip Gloves, Felshroud Boots
The black tint of the upgraded appearance of the Outlaw Artifact swords or the base red tint of the Mage Tower Challenge rapiers would also be fabulous with this outfit.
