A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Tauren & Highmountain Tauren Shamans. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).

135) Cobalt Guardian

Cobalt Guardian’s Helm, Cobalt Guardian’s Pauldron, Azure Wings of Awakening, Cobalt Guardian’s Hauberk, Cobalt Guardian’s Grips, Cobalt Guardian’s Belt, Cobalt Guardian’s Leggings, Cobalt Guardian’s Cover, Cobalt Defender’s Shredder, Steadfast Cobalt Bulwark
This version of the set is obtained from the Cobalt Assembly, which was, at least for me, the most obnoxious grind experience of Dragonflight.

134) Obsidian Dracthyr

Obsidian Dracthyr Battlegear Helm, Obsidian Dracthyr Battlegear Monnion, Obsidian Wings of Awakening, Obsidian Dracthyr Battlegear Hauberk, Obsidian Dracthyr Battlegear Grips, Obsidian Dracthyr Battlegear Belt, Obsidian Dracthyr Battlegear Leggings, Obsidian Dracthyr Battlegear Cover, Obsidian Guard’s Claw, Obsidian Guard’s Barrier
This version of the set is obtained from Wrathion/Sabellian reputation, which isn’t hard to do as long as there are lots of other people at the Obsidian Citadel working on it, too.

133) Sandshaped Dracthyr

Sandshaped Dracthyr Battlegear Helm, Sandshaped Dracthyr Battlegear Monnion, Bronze Wings of Awakening, Sandshaped Dracthyr Battlegear Hauberk, Sandshaped Dracthyr Battlegear Grips, Sandshaped Dracthyr Battlegear Belt, Sandshaped Dracthyr Battlegear Leggings, Sandshaped Dracthyr Battlegear Cover, Valdrakken Drakonid’s Claw, Valdrakken Guard’s Barrier
This version of the set just showed up, complete, in my Wardrobe collection one day. I’m not sure what the qualifications are for earning it. Maybe just getting to level 70 as a Mail-wearer? Or perhaps completing the Thaldrazsus leveling main storyline?

132) Crimson Dracthyr

Crimson Dracthyr Battlegear Helm, Crimson Dracthyr Battlegear Monnion, Ruby Wings of Awakening, Crimson Dracthyr Battlegear Hauberk, Crimson Dracthyr Battlegear Grips, Crimson Dracthyr Battlegear Belt, Crimson Dracthyr Battlegear Leggings, Crimson Dracthyr Battlegear Treads, Valdrakken Guard’s Claw, Drake Rider’s Stecktarge
By the time a new Evoker has completed their Forbidden Reach starting zone, they will have collected this version of the set.

131) Emerald Winglord

Emerald Winglord’s Coif, Gleaming Mantle of Unrelenting Justice, Emerald Wings of Awakening, Emerald Winglord’s Hauberk, Emerald Winglord’s Grips, Gleaming Belt of Unrelenting Justice, Emerald Winglord’s Greaves, Emerald Winglord’s Boots, Hidepiercing Claw Extensions, Drakonid’s Jade Bulwark
Getting the five colors of the Dracthyr Battlegear, with their matching fist weapons and shields, was Kamalia’s main Mog collection goal for Dragonflight. This version of the Dracthyr Battlegear is the Evoker starting gear set. It doesn’t have shoulders or a belt available as part of the set. The items from the green and gold version of the Warden set do fill in nicely, though.

A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Tauren & Highmountain Tauren Warriors. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).

83) Sunstruck

Gilded Sunglasses, Yaungol Deathcult Shoulderguards, Suncrown Breastplate, Gleaming Gloves of Unrelenting Justice, Green Plate Belt, Initiate’s Pants, Gleaming Treads of Unrelenting Justice, Sunny Floral Staff
Making a Dual-Wielding kit with this staff for my Fury Warrior was an irresistible idea. I’ve saved this outfit to use for the “Summer” theme in the next Trial of Style.

82) Freya’s Hammer

Overgrown Freyan Warplate with Wildguard Helm, Master Builder’s Shirt, and Ogra’mal Snake Charming Flute
Although Keija is not yet level 70 and has not been to the Emerald Dream around Amirdrassil, her big sisters collected the pieces of this set for her by planting Small Dreamseeds.

81) Fun ‘n’ Flirty

Eternal Pink Rose, Sprite Darter’s Flutterers, Battlefield Lover’s Bow, Sprite Darter’s Shawl, Classic Rosy Tabard, Love Witch’s Gloves, Love Witch’s Sash, Sprite Darter’s Trousers, Love Witch’s Boots, The Hammer of Destiny, The Oathkeeper
Slight modification of an outfit I originally put together for this theme during the March 2024 Trial of Style. It also seemed quite suitable for Noblegarden, especially with the new pink & blue color scheme for the holiday.

A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Tauren & Highmountain Tauren Mages. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).

13) Waveborne Wizard

Waveborne Diplomat’s Cavalier Hat, Waveborne Diplomat’s Puffed Pauldrons, Pterroleather Cloak, Waveborne Diplomat’s Vestment, Flowing Aquatic Gloves, Waveborne Diplomat’s Belt, Trader’s Aquatic Sarong, Squirgle’s Deepstone Wand, Bubbling Concoction
I thought I’d try the Waveborne Diplomat hat, shoulders, chestpiece, and belt with the aqua gloves and sarong from the Trading Post. The concept worked out as nicely as I thought it would.

12) Taverner’s Tale II

Reno’s Lucky Hat, Dueler’s Sepia Shoulder Cape, The Tavern’s Tabard, Earth Mother’s Sepia Gloves, Taverner’s Belt, Trader’s Sepia Sarong, Blue Diamond Witchwand, Heartbound Tome
This outfit, which makes use of Trading Post models in a color first available from the March 2024 Trial of Style, has a little more of the “telling tales of high adventure while playing cards at a genteel gathering” vibe.

11) Taverner’s Tale

Reno’s Lucky Hat, Drake Racer’s Shoulderpads, Swashbuckling Buccaneer’s Tunic, The Tavern’s Tabard, Skitterweb Glovelettes, Taverner’s Belt, Renowned Explorer’s Trousers, Renowned Explorer’s Muckwaders, M’thorus, Heartbound Tome
I wanted to make an outfit that was a little more “sitting in a tavern playing a card game” than “swashbuckling adventures finding artifacts”, but somehow I didn’t quite manage to make that work, did I?

12) Sky-Captain’s Plunder

Plunderlord’s Tricorne of Admiralty, Plunderlord’s Tassled Spaulders, Plunderlord’s Drapery, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Coat, Thick Sauroskin Gloves, Plunderlord’s Golden Cinch, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Pants, Plunderlord’s Muckscrapers, Plunderlord’s Fine Rapier
The Plunderlord outfit was rewarded from Keg Leg’s Crew (Plunderstorm) Renown levels 23 – 38.
Once I had it, this was a mix-and-match that just had to happen.

11) Taverner’s Treasure

Reno’s Lucky Hat, Hidden Shoulder + Supple Shoulderguards (stage 2), Treasure Nabbin’ Bag, Plainstalker Tunic, Runic Leather Gauntlets, Taverner’s Belt, Dragonhawk Pants, Stolen Talrendis Boots, Expeditionary Dagger
I liked the way this kit looked with bare shoulders, but I also liked how the blue jewel on the Supple shoulders complemented the blue jewels in Reno’s Lucky Hat and the Taverner’s Belt.

91) Shining Shieldmaiden

Valhalas Ceremonial Armor with Ferocious Gladiator’s Scaled Helm (H), High Priestess’s Ceremonial Drape, Tyrhold Shortsword, and Aegis of Tyrhold
This armor, which became available to players through Time Rifts in Dragonflight, was originally an NPC-unique recolor, worn by the Valkyra Aspirants at Skold-Ashil in Legion, of the Dragon Soul Paladin Tier set from Cataclysm.
During the Patch 10.2 questline to liberate the Thorognir from Odyn, Vyranoth persuaded Eyir to stand aside. I hope that sometime later (maybe in The Last Titan?) we’ll get the opportunity to release Eyir, the Valkyra, and the Val’kyr from Odyn’s thrall as well.

123) Winterborn Embersage

Wanderer’s Snowy Scarf, Benevolent Embersage’s Wisdom (LFR), Benevolent Embersage’s Featherdrape (LFR), Winterborn Chestguard, Formal White Shirt, Benevolent Embersage’s Talons (LFR), Winterborn Belt, Benevolent Embersage’s Leggings (LFR), Battlefield Messenger’s Slippers, Winterborn Spear
While I keep trying for the Emerald Dream weeklies to give me the Crystalline Tender’s chestpiece to upgrade into the Amirdrassil Tier chestpiece, the Winterborn chestpiece from Ardenweald fills in nicely.

122) Drassilbloom

Barkbloom set with Nordrassil Headpiece, Green Holiday Shirt, Conservator’s Leather Belt, and Enchanting Dreamstaff
“Summer” coloration of the Leather Emerald Bounty set from the Patch 10.2 Emerald Dream zone.

121) Autumn Dream

Crown of Autumnal Flora, Autumn Druid Shoulderpads, Henri’s Warm Coat, Autumn Druid Vest, Autumn Druid Grips, Cord of the Dreamgrove, Autumn Druid Trousers, Autumn Druid Treads, Ashamane’s Crescent of Rebirth
Somehow, I hadn’t made a kit with the Trading Post Druid Class set weapons immediately. That needed to be rectified. This 10.2 Emerald Dream gear was a nice thematic and color scheme fit.

A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Tauren Monks. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).

83) Midnight Brew

Wanderer’s Violet Scarf, Mantle of the Dusk-Dweller, Nether Shadow Tunic, Rich Purple Silk Shirt, Gloves of the Blind Stalker, Pennyroyal Belt, Cinderweb Leggings (H), Goblin Thug’s Boots, Black Ice
Kate felt like she’d gotten the worse side of the Fireplume x Love Witch’s piece swap, and she wanted to get out of that silly getup in a hurry. Awhile back, she used the jade recolor of this polearm, so she started with the original purple version. Some jade snuck back in anyway when she decided to use this belt, and then these gloves just looked smashing with it.
About half a day after I first posted this outfit, I thought to myself, “Haven’t I already made a Black Ice outfit with Kate? And did it have some teal in it, too?” Sure enough, I did: it’s Monk #56, and it also uses the Pennyroyal Belt. All the other pieces are different — though I did consider the same shoulders again while designing this kit.

82) Love Burns

Love Witch’s Hat, Love Witch’s Blouse, Fireplume Flarewraps, Fireplume Insignia, Love Witch’s Skirt, Fireplume Talons, Possessed Watcher Bloom

Fireplume Crest, Fireplume Halter, Love Witch’s Gloves, Love Witch’s Sash, Fireplume Tailwinds, Love Witch’s Boots, Aldrachi Warblades (upgraded, tint 4)
My Demon Hunter and Monk almost came to blows over who would get to wear the Love Witch x Fireplume mashup set, until they realized that they could each wear oppositely swapped pieces. Then they mutually agreed that the Demon Hunter would get to wear the version with the Fireplume hat and the Monk would get to wear the version with the Love Witch’s hat.

81) Shaohao’s Majordomo

Swashbuckler’s Eyepatch, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Cape, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Coat, Darkmoon Harlequin’s Gloves, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Pants, Sky-Captain’s Masquerade Boots, Possessed Watcher Keg/Possessed Watcher Fan
The elegant white, black, and gold color scheme of the Sky-Captain’s Masquerade set is a perfect match for the gorgeous Monk Trading Post Class set weapons. I especially love how the “Brewmaster” staff has both a keg and a teapot!
This combination of colors reminded me of Emperor Shaohao’s robes, hence the name for the ensemble.

7) Nemesis

Horns of the Left Hand Path, Hatefury Mantle, Nemesis Robes, Scepter of Sargeras (default, tint 1)
Keshara figured she ought to wear this while the Spring Gatherer was in town. Recently, Wowhead reported finding a full set of Nemesis gear in the recolor worn by the Spring Gatherer in PTR datamining, but who knows when or how that might ever make it into the live game.
See also Blood Elf Warlock #54.

6) Dominion of Fire

Power Generator Hood (H)/Buc-Zakai Burning Hood, Mantle of Dissemination, Vermillion Robes of the Dominant, Amber Filigreed Doublet, Wraps of the San’layn, Wild Gladiator’s Cord of Cruelty (H), Scepter of Sargeras (upgraded, tint 4)
Update of a kit I originally made for my Blood Elf Warlock (#69). Much of my Tauren Warlock’s wardrobe will be a refresh of my favorite combos from my Blood Elf Warlock’s wardrobe…
As well as it being more Warlock-ish than Mage-ish to my eye, I’ve never really liked this this Bastion of Twilight/Blackwing Descent Mage tier lookalike hood because it has always made me think that the unfortunate person wearing it was suffering from goiter.
The alternate hat is a lookalike of the Siege of Orgrimmar Priest tier hat. I like how it brings in more of the dark metallic tones from the bottom of the robe up into the top of the ensemble.

5) Nightmare Fueled

Wizardweave Turban, Doomcaller’s Mantle, Frontline Necromancer’s Vestments, Pigskin Gloves, Gem-Inlaid Velvet Cinch, Talon Guard Staff
I picked up the red and black recolor of the Korthia Necrolords set because I kinda wanted to someday make a Warlock kit with the robe.

4) Very Much Alive Conniver

Wicked Witch’s Hat, Soulbreaker’s Burnished Mantle, Phylactery of the Dead Conniver, Nathrezim Acolyte’s Robes, Warlock’s Mitts, Soulbreaker’s Burnished Sash, Stormbender Rod
Kaelyla was trying out options for an outfit built around this shoulders, backpiece, and robe combo in the Dressing Room when Keshara knocked on the door and said — Hey, that’s MY outfit.

3) Bloodfire

Jewel of the Firelord, Shoulders of Mercy Killing (25H), Watcher’s Tunic, Shadewarped Sash, Plaguebringer’s Stained Pants (25H), Bloodfire Greatstaff
A variation on an outfit originally created for my Blood Elf Warlock (see Warlock #35) with which I was particularly well-pleased.

2) Shadowflame Acolyte

Shadra Silk Headband, Shadra Silk Mantle, Acolyte’s Robe, Squire’s Shirt*, Magiskull Cuffs, Apothecary’s Waistband, Staff of Fiery Fate
This was the Classic level 1 Troll & Orc Warlock robe.
I was rather delighted to discover a graphical update not mentioned in the 10.1.5 patch notes — or anywhere else that I’ve noticed, though I’ll grant that I may have missed coverage of it when Patch 10.1 went live — a Destruction Warlock’s pure fire spells (Immolate, Incinerate, Rain of Fire) now use the orange-magenta-violet Shadowflame effect introduced in Patch 10.1!

I’ll probably still get green fire for her eventually, but in the meantime, I appreciate the further differentiation of Destro Lock from Fire Mage
Mua ha ha HA HA!!! XD

Classic level 1 Troll Priest, Mage, and Warlock robes.

1) Exile’s Reach Rescue Mission

Horde Expeditionary Cloth Armor with Horns of the Left Hand Path and Expeditionary Staff
Camp Narache? Too boring. Keshara started out in Exile’s Reach. With a voidwalker to tank, health funnel, a healthstone, and drain life, she handily soloed the elite bear for the quest that rewards the shoulders for this set — thus allowing me to complete it at last.
Under the moody fringe, her eyes are yellow.

Meet my Tauren Warlock!

There was not the crowd of new Warlocks I expected to find in Exile’s Reach on Tuesday night, but as a Warlock with a Voidwalker to tank for her, health funnel, and healthstone and/or drain life, she was able to take on that elite bear with ease and get the shoulders for the Expeditionary Cloth set.

Prompted by the Valdrakken Weekly, I did a few Time Rifts. They are moderately entertaining chaotic scrambles of mindlessly smashing things. I haven’t been to Eon’s Fringe yet; I decided that Kaelinda needed to do the Thaldraszus leveling questline first. At my level of play, I’ll have to wait until Patch 10.1.7 splits the new Mythic mega-dungeon Dawn of the Infinites into two Heroics to finish the Bronze Dragonflight storyline, anyway.

I would like to eventually collect all of the cloth Anachronistic set. I’d also like to eventually get the Rift-Mender’s Vestments accessory set from Soridormi reputation. Although I’m not much impressed with the Decorous Garments set as a whole, I’ll probably pick it up for the mix-and-match possibilities of the gloves, boots, and shoulders. I’m not going to go out and farm that stuff, however, until I’m done in Zaralek Cavern — I’m at Renown 13 with Loamm and would like to get to Renown 16 for the Ornate Black Dragon Labwear accessories.

With the Zaralek Cavern Campaign set representing the Black Dragonflight, the Patch 10.1 world drops set representing the Blue Dragonflight, the Fyrakk Assaults set representing the Red Dragonflight, and now the Time Rifts set representing the Bronze Dragonflight, I can’t help but wonder if the Dreamsurges coming in Patch 10.1.7 will finish out the collection with a Green Dragonflight coloration of that armor style.

Given that I once thought that “Tauren” and “Warlock” should never go together, I have been feeling unreasonably excited about creating a Tauren Warlock in Patch 10.1.5.

As I’ve thought about it, I’ve come to the conclusion that this anticipation is largely due to what I am calling “the completion effect”. With a Tauren Warlock, I will at last have all the classes* as my favorite race. And if I roll her on Patch Day and play her through Exile’s Reach (because she’s too gnarly to do the boring old Mulgore starter sequence, naturally), there ought to be enough other new Warlocks of assorted races around for me to be able to get in on a kill of Killclaw the Terrible, the group quest that rewards the shoulderpads for the Expeditionary Cloth set**. It’s completing those two sets — the alt set and the Mog set — that I’m actually feeling so excited about.

~*~*~
* Well, except for Demon Hunter and Evoker, of course. I am okay, though, with Demon Hunter remaining restricted to Night Elves and Blood Elves, and with Evoker remaining restricted to Dracthyr. If the class selection for Dracthyr ever opens up, however, you can bet I’ll be adding a Dracthyr Mage to the Minor Mages roster!
** For all the dozens of toons he’s rolled and played through Exile’s Reach and then deleted because there are only a handful of character slots on my account that he can use, my 6 year old has not managed to complete that quest, either.
