My Death Knight, Druid, and Hunter have all been in Pandaria for some time now — but, in a bit of a surprise, dark-horse-come-from-behind move even to myself, it is my Warrior who just became my fourth 90 and gave me the “Terrific Trio” achievement.
Keija dinged 80 just before Noblegarden. I decided to give her a rest instead of jumping right into the Cataclysm content because I wasn’t quite ready to bring her to Pandaria — I wanted to wait at least until I had a second 90 before I started any more characters on the Mists content.
Mists raiding, however, has produced quite a few items that I really, really like that are intended for Strength heroes. Starshatter is a gorgeous design, and, luckily for me, the blue LFR version is my favorite color of it. Ditto for the Scimitar of Seven Stars. And then there’s the T15 Warrior set, the Battleplate of the Last Mogu, for which, wonder of wonders, the LFR (!) coloration is, in my opinion, the awesomest tier set of Mists yet.
With a little bit of encouragement from Umlaut Paradots, I decided that it was time to get Keija leveled and LFR-ready so that I could have a chance at getting at least some of these items before the next expansion comes out and no-one is doing Mists LFR anymore.
Keija burned through Cataclysm in two days — Mount Hyjal through “Aessina’s Miracle” on the first day, then the Stonehearth questline in Deepholm, the Ramkahen questline in Uldum, and just enough of Twilight Highlands to ding 85 on the second day. After dinging 85, she took a few minutes in Orgrimmar to clean out her bags, then jumped on the airship to go to the Jade Forest and didn’t rest until she reached Honeydew Village. The next day, just getting to Dawn’s Blossom got her to level 86. Finishing everything else in the Jade Forest got her to level 87. I had been thinking of doing everything in the Valley of the Four Winds and Krasarang Wilds so that she could ding 90 in Kun-Lai Summit without needing to quest in Townlong Steppes or the Dread Wastes… but then I realized that as a Blacksmith, she will need to do Dread Wastes at least until she’s Honored with the Klaxxi so that she can get the patterns. So instead, when she dinged 87, she skipped the Valley and the Wilds completely and went straight to Kun-Lai. By the time she completed everything in Kun-Lai Summit, she was 17% through level 89. She still reached Honored with the Klaxxi well before dinging the big 9-0.
Now to work on the reps and the gearing part….
I wonder how painful it is to get lots of your toons through LFR? I admit there are some nice things in LFR – I want the LFR version of Ji-Kun’s staff!
I am wondering how painful it will be to be trying to run two characters through LFR at the same time, too! Some weeks I barely get through it just with Kam, and she will continue to be first priority for LFR time until she finishes her Legendary questline stuff.
I think it depends on role and luck.
Two DPS and you may not have the TIME for it, given how long that DPS queue can take.
Good luck and you get good groups? You can mentally/emotionally charge through more. Bad luck and you get a bunch of WTF going on? EFF THAT SHEEYIT I’M JUMPING SHIP.
Yikes, I hadn’t even thought about the queue times aspect of trying to LFR with two characters! My queue times with Kam, as a healer, haven’t been too bad. Keija is Arms/Fury, and I have no intention of learning to tank with her (especially learning to Warrior tank starting at max level), so she’ll have to suffer through DPS queue times, won’t she? O joy….
Congratz on the leveling. That’s a lot of hard work you have there. π
Thank you! π
Congrats on another 90! π
Thanks! π
Ahhh, the demands of fashion never cease!
Haha, indeed, they do not — though I have been so occupied with trying to get a few bits of new and better gear stats-wise for Keija that her *appearance* is somewhat un-curated at the moment. I’ll need to make her a proper new Transmogrification Kit very soon!
“my fourth 90 and gave me the ‘Terrific Trio’ achievement”
/scratches head
What happened to the third?
The Dynamic Duo, Terrific Trio, etc meta achievements are for getting X number of characters of *different Classes* to 90. My second level 90 was my secondary Shaman, so she didn’t count for any of them.
My Monk, who was my third 90 total, netted me the Dynamic Duo achievement.
Congratulations! I have 3 90s, all warriors, so that particular achievement is not for me. :p
Thanks! LoL — that’s still a pretty terrific trio, even if you didn’t get an in-game achievement for it!
Grats on ur newest 90 π
TY! π
